2023-04-20dt-bindings: usb: dwc2: add utmi optional clockFabrice Gasnier1-1/+4
utmi clock is typically provided by PHY output. Add this optional clock, as the core could use other clocks depending on the SoC where it's used. This is needed on stm32mp15, when using the integrated full-speed PHY. 2023-03-29usb: gadget: uvc: Make bmControls attr read/writeDaniel Scally2-2/+30
For the Processing Unit and Camera Terminal descriptors defined in the UVC Gadget we currently hard-code values into their bmControls fields, which enumerates which controls the gadget is able to support. This isn't appropriate since only the userspace companion program to the kernel driver will know which controls are supported. Make the configfs attributes that point to those fields read/write so userspace can set them to appropriate values. Document the new behaviour at the same time so the functionality is clear. 2023-03-23xhci: dbc: Provide sysfs option to configure dbc descriptorsMathias Nyman1-0/+52
When DbC is enabled the first port on the xHC host acts as a usb device. xHC provides the descriptors automatically when the DbC device is enumerated. Most of the values are hardcoded, but some fields such as idProduct, idVendor, bcdDevice and bInterfaceProtocol can be modified. Add sysfs entries that allow userspace to change these. User can only change them before dbc is enabled, i.e. before writing "enable" to dbc sysfs file as we don't want these values to change while device is connected, or during enumeration. 2023-03-22xdp: bpf_xdp_metadata use EOPNOTSUPP for no driver supportJesper Dangaard Brouer1-2/+5
When driver doesn't implement a bpf_xdp_metadata kfunc the fallback implementation returns EOPNOTSUPP, which indicate device driver doesn't implement this kfunc. Currently many drivers also return EOPNOTSUPP when the hint isn't available, which is ambiguous from an API point of view. Instead change drivers to return ENODATA in these cases. There can be natural cases why a driver doesn't provide any hardware info for a specific hint, even on a frame to frame basis (e.g. PTP). Lets keep these cases as separate return codes. When describing the return values, adjust the function kernel-doc layout to get proper rendering for the return values. 2023-03-17ynl: broaden the license even moreJakub Kicinski7-7/+8
I relicensed Netlink spec code to GPL-2.0 OR BSD-3-Clause but we still put a slightly different license on the uAPI header than the rest of the code. Use the Linux-syscall-note on all the specs and all generated code. It's moot for kernel code, but should not hurt. This way the licenses match everywhere. Create a new section for security issues in the index and group it with embargoed-hardware-issues. I'm doing this at the start of the series to make all the subsequent changes show up in 'git blame'. Existing references were updated using: git grep -l security-bugs ':!Documentation/translations/' | xargs sed -i 's|admin-guide/security-bugs|process/security-bugs|g' git grep -l security-bugs Documentation/translations/ | xargs sed -i 's|Documentation/admin-guide/security-bugs|Documentation/process/security-bugs|g' git grep -l security-bugs Documentation/translations/ | xargs sed -i '/Original:/s|\.\./admin-guide/security-bugs|\.\./process/security-bugs|g' Notably, the page is not moved in the translations (due to my lack of knowledge of these languages), but the translations have been updated to point to the new location of the original document where these references exist. 2023-03-09dt-bindings: usb: usb-device: make "compatible" optionalRafał Miłecki1-1/+0
This binding was originally meant to describe hard-wired USB devices but in some situations we need to describe USB ports. That is needed e.g. if USB port is meant to be used as a trigger source but it can have any device plugged. It's a common case for home routers which have USB ports (with no hard-wired devices) and USB LEDs to indicate ports state. There is no point (and no easy way) to add separate binding covering just USB ports. Adjust existing devices binding to allow describing ports.
