2020-07-28drm: mxsfb: Support the alpha planeLaurent Pinchart1-0/+22
The LCDIF in the i.MX6SX and i.MX7 have a second plane called the alpha plane. Support it. 2020-07-28drm: mxsfb: Clarify format and bus width configurationLaurent Pinchart1-9/+8
Replace the convoluted way to set the format and bus width through difficult to read macros with more explicit ones. Also remove the outdated comment related to the limitations on bus width setting as it doesn't apply anymore (the bus width can be specified through the display_info bus format). 2020-07-28drm: mxsfb: Remove unused macros from mxsfb_regs.hLaurent Pinchart1-8/+0
mxsfb_regs.h defines macros related to register bits. Some of them are not used and don't clearly map to any particular register, so their purpose isn't known. Remove them. 2020-07-28drm: mxsfb: Use BIT() macro to define register bitfieldsLaurent Pinchart1-28/+28
Using BIT() is preferred over manual shifts as it's more readable, handles the 1 << 31 case properly, and avoids other mistakes as shown by the DEBUG0_HSYNC and DEBUG0_VSYNC bits (that are currently unused). Use it. 2017-03-10drm: mxsfb: use bus_format to determine LCD bus widthStefan Agner1-0/+1
The LCD bus width does not need to align with the pixel format. The LCDIF controller automatically converts between pixel formats and bus width by padding or dropping LSBs. The DRM subsystem has the notion of bus_format which allows to determine what bus_formats are supported by the display. Choose the first available or fallback to 24 bit if none are available. 2016-12-06drm: Add new driver for MXSFB controllerMarek Vasut1-0/+114
Add new driver for the MXSFB controller found in i.MX23/28/6SX . The MXSFB controller is a simple framebuffer controller with one parallel LCD output. Unlike the MXSFB fbdev driver that is used on these systems now, this driver uses the DRM/KMS framework.
