2024-05-09hwmon: Drop explicit initialization of struct i2c_device_id::driver_data to ↵Uwe Kleine-König1-1/+1
0 (part 2) These drivers don't use the driver_data member of struct i2c_device_id, so don't explicitly initialize this member. This prepares putting driver_data in an anonymous union which requires either no initialization or named designators. But it's also a nice cleanup on its own. This is a follow up to commit d8a66f3621c2 ("hwmon: Drop explicit initialization of struct i2c_device_id::driver_data to 0") which I created before identifying a few corner cases in my conversion script. 2024-02-12hwmon: Remove I2C_CLASS_HWMON from drivers w/o detect() and address_listHeiner Kallweit1-1/+0
Class-based I2C probing requires detect() and address_list to be set in the I2C client driver, see checks in i2c_detect(). It's misleading to declare I2C_CLASS_HWMON support if this precondition isn't met. 2023-08-21hwmon: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring1-1/+1
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. 2023-06-08hwmon: Switch i2c drivers back to use .probe()Uwe Kleine-König1-1/+1
After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from struct i2c_driver. 2020-09-23hwmon: use simple i2c probe functionStephen Kitt1-3/+2
Many hwmon drivers don't use the id information provided by the old i2c probe function, and the remainder can easily be adapted to the new form ("probe_new") by calling i2c_match_id explicitly. This avoids scanning the identifier tables during probes. Drivers which didn't use the id are converted as-is; drivers which did are modified as follows: * if the information in i2c_client is sufficient, that's used instead (client->name); * anything else is handled by calling i2c_match_id() with the same level of error-handling (if any) as before. A few drivers aren't included in this patch because they have a different set of maintainers. They will be covered by other patches. 2017-10-30hwmon: (max6621) Inverted if condition in max6621_read()Dan Carpenter1-1/+1
We intended to test for failure here but accidentally tested for success. It means that we don't set "*val" to true and it means that if i2c_smbus_write_byte() does fail then we return success.
