Hopefully all should be good now, and Saravana will be keeping a watch for any potential regression on odd embedded systems. - driver core changes to work to make struct bus_type able to be moved into read-only memory (i.e. const) The recent work with Rust has pointed out a number of areas in the driver core where we are passing around and working with structures that really do not have to be dynamic at all, and they should be able to be read-only making things safer overall. This is the contuation of that work (started last release with kobject changes) in moving struct bus_type to be constant. We didn't quite make it for this release, but the remaining patches will be finished up for the release after this one, but the groundwork has been laid for this effort. 2021-09-27ipack: ipoctal: fix stack information leakJohan Hovold1-5/+14
The tty driver name is used also after registering the driver and must specifically not be allocated on the stack to avoid leaking information to user space (or triggering an oops). Drivers should not try to encode topology information in the tty device name but this one snuck in through staging without anyone noticing and another driver has since copied this malpractice. Fixing the ABI is a separate issue, but this at least plugs the security hole. 2021-08-13ipack: tpci200: fix many double free issues in tpci200_pci_probeDongliang Mu1-18/+18
The function tpci200_register called by tpci200_install and tpci200_unregister called by tpci200_uninstall are in pair. However, tpci200_unregister has some cleanup operations not in the tpci200_register. So the error handling code of tpci200_pci_probe has many different double free issues. Fix this problem by moving those cleanup operations out of tpci200_unregister, into tpci200_pci_remove and reverting the previous commit 9272e5d0028d ("ipack/carriers/tpci200: Fix a double free in tpci200_pci_probe"). alloc_tty_driver was deprecated by tty_alloc_driver in commit 7f0bc6a68ed9 (TTY: pass flags to alloc_tty_driver) in 2012. I never got into eliminating alloc_tty_driver until now. So we still have two functions for allocating drivers which might be confusing. So get rid of alloc_tty_driver uses to eliminate it for good in the next patch. Note we need to switch return value checking as tty_alloc_driver uses ERR_PTR. And flags are now a parameter of tty_alloc_driver. 2021-07-21bus: Make remove callback return voidUwe Kleine-König1-3/+1
The driver core ignores the return value of this callback because there is only little it can do when a device disappears. This is the final bit of a long lasting cleanup quest where several buses were converted to also return void from their remove callback. Additionally some resource leaks were fixed that were caused by drivers returning an error code in the expectation that the driver won't go away. With struct bus_type::remove returning void it's prevented that newly implemented buses return an ignored error code and so don't anticipate wrong expectations for driver authors. In the out_err_bus_register error branch of tpci200_pci_probe, tpci200->info->cfg_regs is freed by tpci200_uninstall()-> tpci200_unregister()->pci_iounmap(..,tpci200->info->cfg_regs) in the first time. But later, iounmap() is called to free tpci200->info->cfg_regs again. My patch sets tpci200->info->cfg_regs to NULL after tpci200_uninstall() to avoid the double free. The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This patch replaces cases of: kzalloc(a * b, gfp) with: kcalloc(a * b, gfp) as well as handling cases of: kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp) with: kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp) as it's slightly less ugly than: kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were dropped, since they're redundant. Replace ASYNC_INITIALIZED bit in the tty_port::flags field with TTY_PORT_INITIALIZED bit in the tty_port::iflags field. Introduce helpers tty_port_set_initialized() and tty_port_initialized() to abstract atomic bit ops. Note: the transforms for test_and_set_bit() and test_and_clear_bit() are unnecessary as the state transitions are already mutually exclusive; the tty lock prevents concurrent open/close/hangup. 2014-09-24ipoctal: clear break interrupt as soon as it occursFederico Vaga1-1/+3
In some condition we receive the break interrupt but nothing is putted in the Rx FIFO and the correspondend bit in the status register is not set. Thus, no-one clear the interrupt and the handler will be called forever. This patch clear the break interrupt as soon as it occurs. Then, if the break character '\0' is putted in the fifo we will manage it. We can also unmask the Break interrupt but its bit in ISR is still set on break. So I think is better to keep the registers clean.
