2023-07-28net: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring1-0/+1
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. powerpc's asm/prom.h includes some headers that it doesn't need itself. In order to clean powerpc's asm/prom.h up in a further step, first clean all files that include asm/prom.h Some files don't need asm/prom.h at all. For those ones, just remove inclusion of asm/prom.h Some files don't need any of the items provided by asm/prom.h, but need some of the headers included by asm/prom.h. For those ones, add the needed headers that are brought by asm/prom.h at the moment and remove asm/prom.h Some files really need asm/prom.h but also need some of the headers included by asm/prom.h. For those one, leave asm/prom.h but also add the needed headers so that they can be removed from asm/prom.h in a later step. Most users of ndo_do_ioctl are ethernet drivers that implement the MII commands SIOCGMIIPHY/SIOCGMIIREG/SIOCSMIIREG, or hardware timestamping with SIOCSHWTSTAMP/SIOCGHWTSTAMP. Separate these from the few drivers that use ndo_do_ioctl to implement SIOCBOND, SIOCBR and SIOCWANDEV commands. This is a purely cosmetic change intended to help readers find their way through the implementation. 2020-07-06sun/sungem: use generic power managementVaibhav Gupta1-33/+43
With legacy PM, drivers themselves were responsible for managing the device's power states and takes care of register states. And they use PCI helper functions to do it. After upgrading to the generic structure, PCI core will take care of required tasks and drivers should do only device-specific operations. In this driver: gem_suspend() calls gem_do_stop() which in turn invokes pci_disable_device(). As the PCI helper function is not called at the end/start of the function body, breaking the function in two parts may change its behavior. The only other function invoking gem_do_stop() is gem_close(). Hence, gem_close() and gem_suspend() can do the required end steps on their own. The same case is with gem_resume(). Both gem_resume() and gem_open() invoke gem_do_start(). Again, make the caller functions do the required steps on their own. Compile-tested only. 2018-06-20net: sungem: fix rx checksum supportEric Dumazet1-10/+12
After commit 88078d98d1bb ("net: pskb_trim_rcsum() and CHECKSUM_COMPLETE are friends"), sungem owners reported the infamous "eth0: hw csum failure" message. CHECKSUM_COMPLETE has in fact never worked for this driver, but this was masked by the fact that upper stacks had to strip the FCS, and therefore skb->ip_summed was set back to CHECKSUM_NONE before my recent change. Driver configures a number of bytes to skip when the chip computes the checksum, and for some reason only half of the Ethernet header was skipped. Then a second problem is that we should strip the FCS by default, unless the driver is updated to eventually support NETIF_F_RXFCS in the future. Finally, a driver should check if NETIF_F_RXCSUM feature is enabled or not, so that the admin can turn off rx checksum if wanted. Outside of the arch/ directories, the only drivers that actually need things provided by asm/pci-bridge.h are the powerpc RPA hotplug drivers in drivers/pci/hotplug/rpa*. The function gem_init_one() return 0 for success and negative value for most of its internal tests failures. There is one exception that is error case going to err_out_free_consistent:. For this error case, the function abort its success execution path, but returns non negative value, making it difficult for a caller function to notice the error. This patch fixes the error case that do not return negative value. This was found by Coccinelle, but the code change was made by hand. This patch is not robot generated. WakeOnLan was broken in this driver because gp->asleep_wol is a 1-bit bitfield and it was being assigned WAKE_MAGIC, which is (1 << 5). gp->asleep_wol remains 0 and the machine never wakes up.
