2024-05-06wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: align UATS naming with firmwareJohannes Berg1-5/+5
The firmware has different names for this, which is confusing as even the convention of having the firmware name in a comment after the struct definition wasn't met here. Fix the naming, but keep UATS in some of it since that's the BIOS name. 2024-02-02wifi: iwlwifi: separate TAS 'read-from-BIOS' and 'send-to-FW' flowsMiri Korenblit1-14/+10
Currently the TAS 'read-from-BIOS' flow receives the command struct and the version of it as read from FW TLVs, and fills the command accordingly. This seems wrong, we should have the 'read-from-BIOS' flow (iwl_acpi_get_tas in iwlwifi) reading/parsing/validating the table from BIOS, and the 'send-to-FW' flow (iwl_mvm_tas_init) doing all the FW versioning checks and cmd filling. 2020-06-10iwlwifi: Replace zero-length array with flexible-arrayGustavo A. R. Silva1-2/+2
The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2], introduced in C99: struct foo { int stuff; struct boo array[]; }; By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on. Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by this change: "Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1] sizeof(flexible-array-member) triggers a warning because flexible array members have incomplete type[1]. There are some instances of code in which the sizeof operator is being incorrectly/erroneously applied to zero-length arrays and the result is zero. Such instances may be hiding some bugs. So, this work (flexible-array member conversions) will also help to get completely rid of those sorts of issues. This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle. 2017-08-01iwlwifi: mvm: support fw reading empty OTPLiad Kaufman1-1/+9
If the OTP is empty, the NVM_GET_INFO command returns with flags' bit(0) on. This means the FW returns the default values for working with. This is allowed, so use this returned data. 2017-08-01iwlwifi: reorganize firmware APIJohannes Berg1-0/+378
Apart from DVM, all firmware uses the same base API, and there's code outside iwlmvm that needs to interact with it. Reflect this in the source better and reorganize the firmware API to a new fw/api/ directory. While at it, split the already pretty large fw-api.h file into a number of smaller files, going from almost 3k lines in there to a maximum number of lines less than 1k.
