We have stubs for most OF interfaces even when CONFIG_OF is not set, so we allow building of most controller drivers in that case for compile testing. When CONFIG_OF is not set, "of_match_ptr(<match_table>)" compiles to NULL, which leaves <match_table> unused, resulting in errors like this: $ make W=1 drivers/pci/controller/pci-xgene.c:636:34: error: ‘xgene_pcie_match_table’ defined but not used [-Werror=unused-const-variable=] Drop of_match_ptr() to avoid the unused variable warning. All of the DW PCIe core driver entities except the pcie_port struct have names with the "dw_" prefix to distinguish local and common PCIe name spaces, and endpoint-related entities have an "_ep" suffix. Rename struct pcie_port to dw_pcie_rp to make it more consistent with other names. 2020-11-19PCI: dwc: Move link handling into common codeRob Herring1-22/+17
All the DWC drivers do link setup and checks at roughly the same time. Let's use the existing .start_link() hook (currently only used in EP mode) and move the link handling to the core code. The behavior for a link down was inconsistent as some drivers would fail probe in that case while others succeed. Let's standardize this to succeed as there are usecases where devices (and the link) appear later even without hotplug. For example, a reconfigured FPGA device. 2019-09-04PCI: armada8x: Propagate errors for optional PHYsThierry Reding1-4/+3
devm_of_phy_get_by_index() can fail for a number of reasons besides probe deferral. It can for example return -ENOMEM if it runs out of memory as it tries to allocate devres structures. Propagating only -EPROBE_DEFER is problematic because it results in these legitimately fatal errors being treated as "PHY not specified in DT". What we really want is to ignore the optional PHYs only if they have not been specified in DT. devm_of_phy_get_by_index() returns -ENODEV in this case, so that's the special case that we need to handle. So we propagate all errors, except -ENODEV, so that real failures will still cause the driver to fail probe. Bring PHY support for the Armada8k driver. The Armada8k IP only supports x1, x2 or x4 link widths. Iterate over the DT 'phys' entries and configure them one by one. Use phy_set_mode_ext() to make use of the submode parameter (initially introduced for Ethernet modes). For PCI configuration, let the submode be the width (1, 2, 4, etc) so that the PHY driver knows how many lanes are bundled. Do not error out in case of error for compatibility reasons. 2019-02-01Revert "PCI: armada8k: Add support for gpio controlled reset signal"Baruch Siach1-16/+0
Revert commit 3d71746c42 ("PCI: armada8k: Add support for gpio controlled reset signal"). That commit breaks boot on Macchiatobin board when a Mellanox NIC is present in the PCIe slot. It turns out that full reset cycle requires first comphy serdes initialization. Reset signal toggle without comphy initialization makes access to PCI configuration registers stall indefinitely. U-Boot toggles the Macchiatobin PCIe reset line already at boot, after initializing the comphy serdes. So while commit 3d71746c42 ("PCI: armada8k: Add support for gpio controlled reset signal") enables PCIe on platforms that U-Boot does not touch the reset line (like Clearfog GT-8K), it breaks PCIe (and boot) on the Macchiatobin board. Revert commit 3d71746c42 ("PCI: armada8k: Add support for gpio controlled reset signal") entirely to fix the Macchiatobin regression. 2018-06-08PCI: Collect all native drivers under drivers/pci/controller/Shawn Lin1-0/+282
Native PCI drivers for root complex devices were originally all in drivers/pci/host/. Some of these devices can also be operated in endpoint mode. Drivers for endpoint mode didn't seem to fit in the "host" directory, so we put both the root complex and endpoint drivers in per-device directories, e.g., drivers/pci/dwc/, drivers/pci/cadence/, etc. These per-device directories contain trivial Kconfig and Makefiles and clutter drivers/pci/. Make a new drivers/pci/controllers/ directory and collect all the device-specific drivers there. No functional change intended.
