2023-12-18PM: domains: Move genpd and its governor to the pmdomain subsystemUlf Hansson1-0/+1
It seems reasonable to collect the core parts for the generic PM domain, along with its corresponding provider drivers. Therefore let's move the files from drivers/base/power/ to drivers/pmdomain/ and while at it, let's also rename the files accordingly. Moreover, let's also update MAINTAINERS to reflect the update. 2023-09-21pmdomain: arm: Add the SCMI performance domainUlf Hansson1-0/+1
To enable support for performance scaling (DVFS) for generic devices with the SCMI performance protocol, let's add an SCMI performance domain. This is being modelled as a genpd provider, with support for performance scaling through genpd's ->set_performance_state() callback. Note that, this adds the initial support that allows consumer drivers for attached devices, to vote for a new performance state via calling the dev_pm_genpd_set_performance_state(). However, this should be avoided as it's in most cases preferred to use the OPP library to vote for a new OPP instead. The support using the OPP library isn't part of this change, but needs to be implemented from subsequent changes. 2023-09-13pmdomain: Rename the genpd subsystem to pmdomainUlf Hansson1-0/+17
It has been pointed out that naming a subsystem "genpd" isn't very self-explanatory and the acronym itself that means Generic PM Domain, is known only by a limited group of people. In a way to improve the situation, let's rename the subsystem to pmdomain, which ideally should indicate that this is about so called Power Domains or "PM domains" as we often also use within the Linux Kernel terminology.
