2020-11-05scsi: target: Drop sess_cmd_lock from I/O pathMike Christie1-1/+1
Drop the sess_cmd_lock by: - Removing the sess_cmd_list use from LIO core, because it's been moved to qla2xxx. - Removing sess_tearing_down check in the I/O path. Instead of using that bit and the sess_cmd_lock, we rely on the cmd_count percpu ref. To do this we switch to percpu_ref_kill_and_confirm/percpu_ref_tryget_live. 2018-08-02scsi: tcm_fc: use target_remove_sessionMike Christie1-2/+1
This converts tcm_fc to use target_remove_session tcm_fc was calling transport_deregister_session_configfs then calling transport_deregister_session when commands have completed. It should be ok for it to call transport_deregister_session_configfs later via target_remove_session because transport_deregister_session_configfs only prevents access from configfs via tpg removal and its call to the close_session callback for that driver, and this is already protected by the ft_lport_lock and its port lookup handling. 2018-08-02scsi: target: rename target_alloc_sessionMike Christie1-1/+1
Rename target_alloc_session to target_setup_session to avoid confusion with the other transport session allocation function that only allocates the session and because the target_alloc_session does so much more. It allocates the session, sets up the nacl and registers the session. The next patch will then add a remove function to match the setup in this one, so it should make sense for all drivers, except iscsi, to just call those 2 functions to setup and remove a session. iscsi will continue to be the odd driver. 2016-01-13tcm_fc: Convert acl lookup to modern get_initiator_node_acl usageNicholas Bellinger1-9/+16
This patch does a simple conversion of tcm_fc code to use proper modern core_tpg_get_initiator_node_acl() lookup using se_node_acl->acl_kref, and drops the legacy list walk from ft_acl_get(). Note the original lookup also took node_name into account, but since ft_init_nodeacl() only ever sets port_name for se_node_acl->acl_group within configfs, this is purely a mechanical change. As per HCH, go ahead and fold ft_acl_get() into original caller. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/nab/target-pending Pull SCSI target updates from Nicholas Bellinger: "It's been a busy development cycle for target-core in a number of different areas. The fabric API usage for se_node_acl allocation is now within target-core code, dropping the external API callers for all fabric drivers tree-wide. There is a new conversion to RCU hlists for se_node_acl and se_portal_group LUN mappings, that turns fast-past LUN lookup into a completely lockless code-path. 2014-04-12target/tcm_fc: Fix use-after-free of ft_tpgAndy Grover1-0/+1
ft_del_tpg checks tpg->tport is set before unlinking the tpg from the tport when the tpg is being removed. Set this pointer in ft_tport_create, or the unlinking won't happen in ft_del_tpg and tport->tpg will reference a deleted object. This patch sets tpg->tport in ft_tport_create, because that's what ft_del_tpg checks, and is the only way to get back to the tport to clear tport->tpg. The bug was occuring when: - lport created, tport (our per-lport, per-provider context) is allocated. tport->tpg = NULL - tpg created - a PRLI is received. ft_tport_create is called, tpg is found and tport->tpg is set - tpg removed. ft_tpg is freed in ft_del_tpg. Since tpg->tport was not set, tport->tpg is not cleared and points at freed memory - Future calls to ft_tport_create return tport via first conditional, instead of searching for new tpg by calling ft_lport_find_tpg. tport->tpg is still invalid, and will access freed memory. see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1071340 Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org # 3.0+ Signed-off-by: Andy Grover <agrover@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Nicholas Bellinger <nab@linux-iscsi.org>
2014-04-07target: Pass in transport supported PI at session initializationNicholas Bellinger1-1/+2
In order to support local WRITE_INSERT + READ_STRIP operations for non PI enabled fabrics, the fabric driver needs to be able signal what protection offload operations are supported. This is done at session initialization time so the modes can be signaled by individual se_wwn + se_portal_group endpoints, as well as optionally across different transports on the same endpoint. For iser-target, set TARGET_PROT_ALL if the underlying ib_device has already signaled PI offload support, and allow this to be exposed via a new iscsit_transport->iscsit_get_sup_prot_ops() callback. For loopback, set TARGET_PROT_ALL to signal SCSI initiator mode operation. For all other drivers, set TARGET_PROT_NORMAL to disable fabric level PI. Cc: Martin K. 2013-10-02tcm_fc: Convert to per-cpu command map pre-allocation of ft_cmdNicholas Bellinger1-1/+2
This patch converts tcm_fc to use transport_init_session_tags() pre-allocation logic for struct ft_cmd descriptors using per-cpu session tag pooling in order to effectively avoid memory allocation + release for each received I/O. It adds percpu_ida_alloc() in ft_recv_cmd() to obtain an tag and locate ft_cmd from se_sess->sess_cmd_map[], and percpu_ida_free() in ft_free_cmd() to release the tag based upon se_cmd->map_tag id. It also uses a TCM_FC_DEFAULT_TAGS value of 512, that puts the per se_sess->sess_cmd_map allocation at ~360K on 64-bit. v2 changes: - Handle possible tag < 0 failure with GFP_ATOMIC Cc: Mark Rustad <mark.d.rustad@intel.com> Cc: Robert Love <robert.w.love@intel.com> Cc: Kent Overstreet <kmo@daterainc.com> Signed-off-by: Nicholas Bellinger <nab@daterainc.com>

2013-02-28hlist: drop the node parameter from iteratorsSasha Levin1-8/+4
I'm not sure why, but the hlist for each entry iterators were conceived list_for_each_entry(pos, head, member) The hlist ones were greedy and wanted an extra parameter: hlist_for_each_entry(tpos, pos, head, member) Why did they need an extra pos parameter? I'm not quite sure. Not only they don't really need it, it also prevents the iterator from looking exactly like the list iterator, which is unfortunate. Besides the semantic patch, there was some manual work required: - Fix up the actual hlist iterators in linux/list.h - Fix up the declaration of other iterators based on the hlist ones. - A very small amount of places were using the 'node' parameter, this was modified to use 'obj->member' instead. - Coccinelle didn't handle the hlist_for_each_entry_safe iterator properly, so those had to be fixed up manually. This triggers the lockdep warning below. So, just fix this to make lockdep happy by disabling the soft irq before calling transport_register_session() in ft_prli. 2011-05-17[SCSI] tcm_fc: Adding FC_FC4 provider (tcm_fc) for FCoE target (TCM - target ↵Kiran Patil1-0/+541
core) support This is a comprehensive patch for FC-FC4 provider. tcm_fc is a FC-FC4 provider which glues target core (TCM) with Fiber channel library (libfc). tcm_fc uses existing FC4 provider hooks from Fiber channel library. This Fiber channel library is used by FCoE (transport - FC over Ethernet) protocol driver as well. Combination of modules such as Fiber channel library, tcm_fc, TCM target core, and FCoE protocol driver enables functional FCoE target. This patch includes initial commit for tcm_fc plus additional enhancement, bug fixes. This tcm_fc module essentially contains 3 entry points such as "prli", "prlo", "recv". When process login request (ELS_PRLI) request is received, Fiber channel library (libfc) module calls passive providers (FC-FC4, tcm_fc) (if any registered) "prli" function. Likewise when LOGO request is received, "prlo" function of passive provider is invoked by libfc. For all other request (e.g. any read/write, task management, LUN inquiry commands), "recv" function of passiver provider is invoked by libfc. Those passive providers "prli, prlo, recv" functions interact with TCM target core for requested operation. This module was primarily developed by "Joe Eykholt" and there were significant contributions from the people listed under signed-off.
