2024-03-05usb: dwc3: qcom: Remove ACPI support from glue driverKrishna Kurapati1-1/+1
Minimal ACPI support was added to the Qualcomm DWC3 glue driver in order to enable USB on SDM850 and SC8180X compute platforms. The support is still functional, but unnoticed regressions in other drivers indicates that no one actually booting any of platforms dependent on this implementation. The functionality provides is the bare minimum and is not expected to aid in the effort of bringing full ACPI support to the driver in the future. Remove the ACPI code from the Qualcomm DWC3 glue driver to aid in the implementation of improvements that are actually used like multiport and flattening device tree. Realtek DHC RTD SoCs integrate dwc3 IP and has some customizations to support different generations of SoCs. The RTD1619b subclass SoC only supports USB 2.0 from dwc3. The driver can set a maximum speed to support this. Add role switching function, that can switch USB roles through other drivers, or switch USB roles through user space through set /sys/class/usb_role/. 2023-08-04usb: dwc3: dwc3-octeon: Convert to glue driverLadislav Michl1-0/+10
DWC3 as implemented in Cavium SoC is using UCTL bridge unit between I/O interconnect and USB controller. Currently there is no bond with dwc3 core code, so if anything goes wrong in UCTL setup dwc3 is left in reset, which leads to bus error while trying to read any device register. Thus any failure in UCTL initialization ends with kernel panic. To avoid this move Octeon DWC3 glue code from arch/mips and make it proper glue driver which is used instead of dwc3-of-simple. 2023-01-19usb: dwc3: fix extcon dependencyArnd Bergmann1-1/+1
The dwc3 core support now links against the extcon subsystem, so it cannot be built-in when extcon is a loadable module: arm-linux-gnueabi-ld: drivers/usb/dwc3/core.o: in function `dwc3_get_extcon': core.c:(.text+0x572): undefined reference to `extcon_get_edev_by_phandle' arm-linux-gnueabi-ld: core.c:(.text+0x596): undefined reference to `extcon_get_extcon_dev' arm-linux-gnueabi-ld: core.c:(.text+0x5ea): undefined reference to `extcon_find_edev_by_node' There was already a Kconfig dependency in the dual-role support, but this is now needed for the entire dwc3 driver. 2019-06-18usb: dwc3: qcom: Add support for booting with ACPILee Jones1-1/+1
In Linux, the DWC3 core exists as its own independent platform device. Thus when describing relationships in Device Tree, the current default boot configuration table option, the DWC3 core often resides as a child of the platform specific node. Both of which are given their own address space descriptions and the drivers can be mostly agnostic to each other. However, other Operating Systems have taken a more monolithic approach, which is evident in the configuration ACPI tables for the Qualcomm Snapdragon SDM850, where all DWC3 (core and platform) components are described under a single IO memory region. To ensure successful booting using the supplied ACPI tables, we need to devise a way to chop up the address regions provided and subsequently register the DWC3 core with the resultant information, which is precisely what this patch aims to achieve. Adds support for Amlogic G12A USB Control Glue HW. The Amlogic G12A SoC Family embeds 2 USB Controllers : - a DWC3 IP configured as Host for USB2 and USB3 - a DWC2 IP configured as Peripheral USB2 Only A glue connects these both controllers to 2 USB2 PHYs, and optionnally to an USB3+PCIE Combo PHY shared with the PCIE controller. The Glue configures the UTMI 8bit interfaces for the USB2 PHYs, including routing of the OTG PHY between the DWC3 and DWC2 controllers, and setups the on-chip OTG mode selection for this PHY. This drivers supports the on-probe setup of the OTG mode, and manually via a debugfs interface. The IRQ mode change detect is yet to be added in a future patchset, mainly due to lack of hardware to validate on. DWC3 controller on Qualcomm SOCs has a Qscratch wrapper. Some of its uses are described below resulting in need to have a separate glue driver instead of using dwc3-of-simple: - It exposes register interface to override vbus-override and lane0-pwr-present signals going to hardware. These must be updated in peripheral mode for DWC3 if vbus lines are not connected to hardware block. Otherwise RX termination in SS mode or DP pull-up is not applied by device controller. - pwr_events_irq_stat support to check if USB2 PHY is in L2 state before glue driver proceeds with suspend. - Support for wakeup interrupts lines that are asserted whenever there is any wakeup event on USB3 or USB2 bus. - Support to replace pip3 clock going to DWC3 with utmi clock for hardware configuration where SSPHY is not used with DWC3. 2014-04-21usb: dwc3: add glue layer dependenciesJean Delvare1-1/+3
Glue layers for the DWC3 driver only make sense on specific platforms. Add dependencies so that they are not built where they aren't needed. 2013-09-17usb: dwc3: remove extcon dependencyHeikki Krogerus1-1/+0
It is required by the OMAP glue driver, but it already depends on it. The core driver should not depend on it. This will allow the use of the PCI glue driver again. Signed-off-by: Heikki Krogerus <heikki.krogerus@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com>

2013-07-29usb: dwc3: make glue layers selectableFelipe Balbi1-0/+32
Glue layers are starting to have separate requirements. For example, OMAP's glue layer is starting to use extcon framework which no one else needs. In order to make it clear the proper dependencies, we are now allowing glue layers to be selectable so that each glue layer can list their own dependencies without messing with the core IP driver.
