2023-03-23usb: phy: fsl: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König1-4/+2
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. 2021-08-13usb: phy: fsl-usb: add IRQ checkSergey Shtylyov1-0/+2
The driver neglects to check the result of platform_get_irq()'s call and blithely passes the negative error codes to request_irq() (which takes *unsigned* IRQ #), causing it to fail with -EINVAL, overriding an original error code. Stop calling request_irq() with the invalid IRQ #s. 2020-07-03USB: phy: fsl-usb: remove character device usageGreg Kroah-Hartman1-69/+0
No idea why this driver is using a char device node, statically allocated, with no dynamic allocation or hook up with devtmpfs, along with a reserverd major number, for "special" operations, not all of which ever were implemented. So just rip it out, as no one must be using it because no modern system will ever actually create the /dev/ node it needs. 2020-07-03USB: phy: fsl-usb: remove sysfs abuseGreg Kroah-Hartman1-93/+0
This file has a HUGE debugging sysfs file that spews out a lot of information all at once, which violates the one-value-per-file rule for sysfs. If this is really needed, it should go into debugfs, but given the age of this driver, I strongly doubt anyone is using it anymore. So just remove the file entirely, it was never documented, so obviously, no one actually needed it :) Cc: Felipe Balbi <balbi@kernel.org> Reviewed-by: Ran Wang <ran.wang_1@nxp.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20200702072914.1072878-1-gregkh@linuxfoundation.org Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

2019-08-28usb: phy: phy-fsl-usb: Make structure fsl_otg_initdata constantNishka Dasgupta1-1/+1
Static structure fsl_otg_initdata, of type fsl_otg_config, is used only once, when the value of its field otg_port is assigned to another variable. As fsl_otg_initdata.otg_port is of type u8, any changes to its copy do not affect the original, and fsl_otg_initdata itself is never modified. Hence make fsl_otg_initdata constant to protect it from unintended modification. Issue found with Coccinelle. 2017-11-07USB: phy: Remove redundant license textGreg Kroah-Hartman1-14/+0
Now that the SPDX tag is in all USB files, that identifies the license in a specific and legally-defined manner. So the extra GPL text wording can be removed as it is no longer needed at all. This is done on a quest to remove the 700+ different ways that files in the kernel describe the GPL license text. And there's unneeded stuff like the address (sometimes incorrect) for the FSF which is never needed. No copyright headers or other non-license-description text was removed. 2017-11-04USB: add SPDX identifiers to all remaining files in drivers/usb/Greg Kroah-Hartman1-0/+1
It's good to have SPDX identifiers in all files to make it easier to audit the kernel tree for correct licenses. Update the drivers/usb/ and include/linux/usb* files with the correct SPDX license identifier based on the license text in the file itself. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. 2014-11-12usb: phy: fsl: Fix build errorsFelipe Balbi1-7/+7
commit e47d925 (usb: move the OTG state from the USB PHY to the OTG structure) moved the OTG state from struct usb_phy to struct usb_otg. Unfortunately, even though I fixed quite a few build regressions with that patch already, this one was still missing. Note that this driver still has other randconfig build problems which I'll leave for driver author to fix, as that's less trivial.
