2023-08-14selftests: mirror_gre_changes: Tighten up the TTL test matchPetr Machata1-1/+2
This test verifies whether the encapsulated packets have the correct configured TTL. It does so by sending ICMP packets through the test topology and mirroring them to a gretap netdevice. On a busy host however, more than just the test ICMP packets may end up flowing through the topology, get mirrored, and counted. This leads to potential spurious failures as the test observes much more mirrored packets than the sent test packets, and assumes a bug. Fix this by tightening up the mirror action match. Change it from matchall to a flower classifier matching on ICMP packets specifically. 2021-11-10selftests: forwarding: Fix packet matching in mirroring selftestsPetr Machata1-1/+1
In commit 6de6e46d27ef ("cls_flower: Fix inability to match GRE/IPIP packets"), cls_flower was fixed to match an outer packet of a tunneled packet as would be expected, rather than dissecting to the inner packet and matching on that. This fix uncovered several issues in packet matching in mirroring selftests: - in mirror_gre_bridge_1d_vlan.sh and mirror_gre_vlan_bridge_1q.sh, the vlan_ethtype match is copied around as "ip", even as some of the tests are running over ip6gretap. This is fixed by using an "ipv6" for vlan_ethtype in the ip6gretap tests. - in mirror_gre_changes.sh, a filter to count GRE packets is set up to match TTL of 50. This used to trigger in the offloaded datapath, where the envelope TTL was matched, but not in the software datapath, which considered TTL of the inner packet. Now that both match consistently, all the packets were double-counted. This is fixed by marking the filter as skip_hw, leaving only the SW datapath component active. 2019-02-02selftests: forwarding: mirror_gre_changes: Fix TTL testPetr Machata1-0/+1
When running in a simulator, the TTL change takes a while to settle and during this time the performance of the packet processing is lowered. The resulting instability leads to ping sending more packets as it assumes some have been dropped. This then leads to regular spurious failures as more packets than expected are observed. Sleep a bit to give the system time to stabilize. Signed-off-by: Petr Machata <petrm@mellanox.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2018-06-30selftests: forwarding: mirror_gre_changes: Fix waiting for neighborPetr Machata1-9/+2
When running the test on soft devices, there's no mechanism to gratuitously start resolving the neighbor for remote tunnel endpoint. So instead of passively waiting, wait for the device to be up, and then probe the neighbor with a ping. Signed-off-by: Petr Machata <petrm@mellanox.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2018-05-25selftests: forwarding: Add $h3's clsact to mirror_topo_lib.shPetr Machata1-2/+0
Having a clsact qdisc on $h3 is useful in several tests, and will be useful in more tests to come. Move the registration from all the tests that need it into the topology file itself. Signed-off-by: Petr Machata <petrm@mellanox.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

Similar to commit a511858c7536 ("selftests: fib_tests: Allow user to run a specific test"), allow user to run only a subset of the tests using the TESTS environment variable. This is useful when not all the tests can pass on a given system. These tests set up mirroring in a situation that the configuration is incorrect, i.e. mirrored packets, if any, are not supposed to reach destination tunnel device. Then the configuration is rectified and mirroring is checked to have started working.
