2021-08-08ARM: renesas: Mallocate bootparams on Gen3Marek Vasut1-3/+0
The bootparams do not have to be at fixed location, they can be dynamically mallocated instead. Make it so to get rid of another fixed assignment. 2021-03-02reset: Remove addr parameter from reset_cpu()Harald Seiler1-1/+1
Historically, the reset_cpu() function had an `addr` parameter which was meant to pass in an address of the reset vector location, where the CPU should reset to. This feature is no longer used anywhere in U-Boot as all reset_cpu() implementations now ignore the passed value. Generic code has been added which always calls reset_cpu() with `0` which means this feature can no longer be used easily anyway. Over time, many implementations seem to have "misunderstood" the existence of this parameter as a way to customize/parameterize the reset (e.g. COLD vs WARM resets). As this is not properly supported, the code will almost always not do what it is intended to (because all call-sites just call reset_cpu() with 0). To avoid confusion and to clean up the codebase from unused left-overs of the past, remove the `addr` parameter entirely. Code which intends to support different kinds of resets should be rewritten as a sysreset driver instead. This transformation was done with the following coccinelle patch: @@ expression argvalue; @@ - reset_cpu(argvalue) + reset_cpu() @@ identifier argname; type argtype; @@ - reset_cpu(argtype argname) + reset_cpu(void) { ... } Signed-off-by: Harald Seiler <hws@denx.de> Reviewed-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2021-02-02common: Drop asm/global_data.h from common headerSimon Glass1-0/+1
Move this out of the common header and include it only where needed. In a number of cases this requires adding "struct udevice;" to avoid adding another large header or in other cases replacing / adding missing header files that had been pulled in, very indirectly. Finally, we have a few cases where we did not need to include <asm/global_data.h> at all, so remove that include. 2020-09-26board: renesas: ebisu: Drop CA57 check in reset_cpu()Lad Prabhakar1-14/+1
Renesas Ebisu board is based on R-Car E3 SoC which has dual CA53 and a CR7. This patch drops check for cputype from reset_cpu() and also drops the corresponding CA57 macros. While at it also dropped RST_RSTOUTCR macro which is unused. Signed-off-by: Lad Prabhakar <prabhakar.mahadev-lad.rj@bp.renesas.com> Reviewed-by: Biju Das <biju.das.jz@bp.renesas.com>

2020-01-18common: Move hang() to the same header as panic()Simon Glass1-0/+1
At present panic() is in the vsprintf.h header file. That does not seem like an obvious choice for hang(), even though it relates to panic(). So let's put hang() in its own header. 2019-05-21ARM: renesas: Factor out DRAM setup on R-Car Gen3Marek Vasut1-35/+0
Pull DRAM layout configuration code into rcar-common.c instead of having it in multiple copies across board files. This poses no change for Salvator-X/XS, ULCB and Ebisu boards, however it adds a bit of extra code for Draak and Eagle boards, which now gain the capability of being passed in the DRAM layout by the ATF. 2019-05-04ARM: renesas: Configure DRAM size from ATF DT fragmentMarek Vasut1-4/+24
The ATF can pass additional information via the first four registers, x0...x3. The R-Car Gen3 with mainline ATF, register x1 contains pointer to a device tree with platform information. Parse this device tree and extract DRAM size information from it. This is useful on systems where the DRAM size can vary between configurations.
