2021-09-07arm: Disable ATAGs supportTom Rini1-0/+2
With the exceptions of ds109, ds414, icnova-a20-swac, nokia_rx51 and stemmy, disable ATAG support. A large number of platforms had enabled support but never supported a kernel so old as to require it. Further, some platforms are old enough to support both, but are well supported by devicetree booting, and have been for a number of years. This is because some of the ATAGs related functions have been re-used to provide the same kind of information, but for devicetree or just generally to inform the user. When needed still, rename these functions to get_board_revision() instead, to avoid conflicts. In other cases, these functions were simply unused, so drop them. In a number of cases this requires adding "struct udevice;" to avoid adding another large header or in other cases replacing / adding missing header files that had been pulled in, very indirectly. Finally, we have a few cases where we did not need to include <asm/global_data.h> at all, so remove that include. The Linux coding style guide (Documentation/process/coding-style.rst) clearly says: It's a **mistake** to use typedef for structures and pointers. Besides, using typedef for structures is annoying when you try to make headers self-contained. Let's say you have the following function declaration in a header: void foo(bd_t *bd); This is not self-contained since bd_t is not defined. To tell the compiler what 'bd_t' is, you need to include <asm/u-boot.h> #include <asm/u-boot.h> void foo(bd_t *bd); Then, the include direcective pulls in more bloat needlessly. If you use 'struct bd_info' instead, it is enough to put a forward declaration as follows: struct bd_info; void foo(struct bd_info *bd); Right, typedef'ing bd_t is a mistake. I used coccinelle to generate this commit. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini3-7/+3
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. 2017-03-20ti: boot: Register the MMC controllers in SPL in the same way as in u-bootJean-Jacques Hiblot1-1/+3
To keep a consistent MMC device mapping in SPL and in u-boot, let's register the MMC controllers the same way in u-boot and in the SPL. In terms of boot time, it doesn't hurt to register more controllers than needed because the MMC device is initialized only prior being accessed for the first time. We have switched to Kconfig and the boards.cfg file is going to be removed. We have to retrieve the board status and maintainers information from it. The MAINTAINERS format as in Linux Kernel would be nice because we can crib the scripts/get_maintainer.pl script. After some discussion, we chose to put a MAINTAINERS file under each board directory, not the top-level one because we want to collect relevant information for a board into a single place. TODO: Modify get_maintainer.pl to scan multiple MAINTAINERS files. It works in Linux Kernel since ARCH is always given from the command line for cross compile. But in U-Boot, ARCH is not given from the command line. Which means we cannot know ARCH until the board configuration is done. That is why all the "*_defconfig" files should be gathered into a single directory ./configs/. 2012-10-15usb: ehci: rework to take advantage of new lowlevel interfaceLucas Stach1-3/+3
Kill off ehci-core.h It was used to specify some static controller data. To support more than one controller being active at any time we have to carry the controller data ourselfes. Change the ehci interface accordingly. NOTE: OMAP implemented the ehci stuff a bit backwards and should be fixed to do the same thing as other platforms. In commit 1a89a217f5c5ab3645c80c1247e8911a8b5ad491 we moved most of the required pads and mux data for USB to the essential list so that later on we could NOT enable anything that wasn't essential unless otherwise configured. This was however missing a few pandaboard-specific parts which left for example USB ethernet non-functional. Tested this on OMAP4430 ES2.2, OMAP4460 ES1.1 PANDA boards. TPS SET0/SET1 register is selected by a GPIO pin on OMAP4460 platforms. Currently we control this pin with a mux configuration as part of boot sequence. Problem 2) voltage of MPU goes beyond spec for even the highest of MPU OPP. Add parameters to the OMAP MMC initialization function so the board can mask host capabilities and set the maximum clock frequency. While the OMAP supports a certain set of MMC host capabilities, individual boards may be more restricted and the OMAP may need to be configured to match the board.
