Falcon mode is very useful in improving boot speed. A question that
Falcon mode asks is "Where do I look for the kernel". With MMC boot
media, the correct answer is CONFIG_SYS_MMCSD_RAW_MODE_KERNEL_SECTOR.
The scope of this patch is to move this to Kconfig.
It is possible for a system to support Falcon mode from NOR but not
MMC. In that case, mmc_load_image_raw_os() would not be used. To
address this, conditionally compile mmc_load_image_raw_os() when
SPL_FALCON_BOOT_MMCSD, instead of SPL_OS_BOOT.

This enables the clock controller driver support on TI's SoCs. This will
fix this GPIO issue at boot time:

request_and_set_gpio: Unable to request GPIO_MUX_MII_CTRL
request_and_set_gpio: Unable to request GPIO_FET_SWITCH_CTRL

This issue comes from the fact that the clock controller is not probed.

This config option was present in am335x_boneblack_defconfig, but we

DFU over TFTP flashing method might be helpful in order to speed-up the
flashing process of big images (as DFU works over USB EP0, which is
quite slow). Also, it's a good backup option in the case when USB got
broken (either in software or hardware), to avoid resorting to SD card
boot.
This config option was present in am335x_boneblack_defconfig, but we
have to use generic am335x_evm_defconfig now, as BBB defconfig was
removed in commit 8fa7f65dd02c ("configs: Remove
am335x_boneblack_defconfig"). So this patch merely brings that option
back.
Tested on BeagleBone Black:
=> setenv dfu_alt_info $dfu_alt_info_emmc
=> setenv ipaddr 192.168.0.100
=> setenv serverip 192.168.0.1
=> setenv updatefile update_uboot.itb
=> dfu tftp mmc 1
Where 'update_uboot.its' file looks like this:
/dts-v1/;
/ {
description = "Automatic U-Boot update";
#address-cells = <1>;
images {
u-boot.img.raw-1 {
description = "U-Boot binary";
data = /incbin/("u-boot.img");
compression = "none";
type = "firmware";
load = <0x60000>;
hash-1 {
algo = "sha1";
};
};
};
};
And 'update_uboot.itb' is generated as follows:
$ mkimage -f update_uboot.its update_uboot.itb
Newly flashed U-Boot works fine.

This patch disables DM watchdog support for SPL builds and uses
the legacy omap watchdog driver on TI AM335x chipsets.
The following build error is reported if DM watchdog support was
enabled in SPL:

Adjusted WATCHDOG_RESET macro accordingly. Earlier it was pointing
to hw_watchdog_reset. Since CONFIG_WATCHDOG replaces CONFIG_HW_WATCHDOG,
now WATCHDOG_RESET macro points to watchdog_reset. This watchdog_reset
is not defined anywhere for am33xx/omap2 and needs to be defined. Fixed
this by simply calling hw_watchdog_reset in watchdog_reset.
Built and tested on AM335x device (BeagleboneBlack), compile tested for
all other AM33xx/omap2 based boards.

This patch adds device tree and driver model watchdog support,
converts the legacy omap watchdog driver to driver model for
TI AM335x chipsets. The following compile warning is removed:
===================== WARNING ======================
This board does not use CONFIG_WDT (DM watchdog support).
Please update the board to use CONFIG_WDT before the
v2019.10 release.
Failure to update by the deadline may result in board removal.
See doc/driver-model/MIGRATION.txt for more info.
====================================================
CONFIG_HW_WATCHDOG is no more a default option for AM33XX devices
after DT/DM conversion, adjusted kconfig accordingly.
DM watchdog support is enabled by default in SPL. The SPL image
doesn't fit into SRAM because of size constraints and build breaks
with an overflow. For this reason DM watchdog support should be
disabled in SPL, driver code should be adjusted accordingly to serve
this purpose.
Built and tested on AM335x device (BeagleboneBlack), compile tested
for all other AM33xx based boards.
