The fdt_path_offset() function is slow since it must scan the tree. This substantial overhead now applies to all boards. The original code may not be ideal but it is fit for purpose and is only needed on a few boards. Reverting this reduces time to set up driver model by about 30ms. 2022-07-25arm: mach-k3: Rename SOC_K3_AM6 to SOC_K3_AM654Andrew Davis1-1/+1
The first AM6x device was the AM654x, but being the first we named it just AM6, since more devices have come out with this same prefix we should switch it to the normal convention of using the full name of the first compatibility device the series. Asking if the alias we found actually points at the device tree node we passed in (in the guise of its offset from blob) can be done simply by asking if the fdt_path_offset() of the alias' path is identical to offset. In fact, the current method suffers from the possibility of false negatives: dtc does not necessarily emit a phandle property for a node just because it is referenced in /aliases; it only emits a phandle property for a node if it is referenced in <angle brackets> somewhere. So if both the node we passed in and the alias node we're considering don't have phandles, fdt_get_phandle() returns 0 for both. Since the proper check is so simple, there's no reason to hide that behind a config option (and if one really wanted that, it should be called something else because there's no need to involve phandle in the check). - Make all users of CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR reference SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR - Introduce HAS_CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR to allow for setting the stack pointer directly, otherwise we use the common calculation. - On some platforms that were using the standard calculation but did not set CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_SIZE / CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_ADDR, set them. - On a small number of platforms that were not subtracting GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE do so now via the standard calculation. - CONFIG_SYS_INIT_SP_OFFSET is now widely unused, so remove it from most board config header files. CONFIG_SYS_DFU_MAX_FILE_SIZE to Kconfig Currently the config options CONFIG_SYS_DFU_DATA_BUF_SIZE and CONFIG_SYS_DFU_MAX_FILE_SIZE are being set in include/configs/<board>.h files and also in <board_name>_defconfig files without a Kconfig option. It is easier for users to set these configs in defconfig files than in config header files as they are a part of the source code. Add Kconfig symbols, and update the defconfigs by using tools/moveconfig.py script. 2020-11-15configs: am65/j72x: Set CONFIG_LOGLEVEL to 7Roger Quadros1-0/+1
By default CONFIG_LOGLEVEL seems to be set to 4 which is too low and doesn't show dev_info/dev_notice/dev_warn messages on console. This has been deliberately set low globally to be conservative setting across the board due to primary bootloader size limitations. It is best to tune per board config as per user needs. On K3 we have separate SPL and u-boot configs so we can afford to set u-boot CONFIG_LOGLEVEL to 7. On AM65 this patch causes u-boot.img size to change from 932KB to 940KB with 1 line additional print during MMC boot. i.e. details of Net subsystem "Net: K3 CPSW: nuss_ver: 0x6BA00102 cpsw_ver: 0x6BA80102 ale_ver: 0x00293904 Ports:1 mdio_freq:1000000" Similar 8KB difference was seen on J721E. 2020-06-29spi: Convert CONFIG_DM_SPI* to CONFIG_$(SPL_TPL_)DM_SPI*Lukasz Majewski1-0/+1
This change allows more fine tuning of driver model based SPI support in SPL and TPL. It is now possible to explicitly enable/disable the DM_SPI support in SPL and TPL via Kconfig option. Before this change it was necessary to use: /* SPI Flash Configs */ #if defined(CONFIG_SPL_BUILD) #undef CONFIG_DM_SPI #undef CONFIG_DM_SPI_FLASH #undef CONFIG_SPI_FLASH_MTD #endif in the ./include/configs/<board>.h, which is error prone and shall be avoided when we strive to switch to Kconfig. The goal of this patch: Provide distinction for DM_SPI support in both U-Boot proper and SPL (TPL). Valid use case is when U-Boot proper wants to use DM_SPI, but SPL must still support non DM driver. Another use case is the conversion of non DM/DTS SPI driver to support DM/DTS. When such driver needs to work in both SPL and U-Boot proper, the distinction is needed in Kconfig (also if SPL version of the driver supports OF_PLATDATA). In the end of the day one would have to support following use cases (in single driver file - e.g. mxs_spi.c): - U-Boot proper driver supporting DT/DTS - U-Boot proper driver without DT/DTS support (deprecated) - SPL driver without DT/DTS support - SPL (and TPL) driver with DT/DTS (when the SoC has enough resources to run full blown DT/DTS) - SPL driver with DT/DTS and SPL_OF_PLATDATA (when one have constrained environment with no fitImage and OF_LIBFDT support). Some boards do require SPI support (with DM) in SPL (TPL) and some only have DM_SPI{_FLASH} defined to allow compiling SPL. This patch converts #ifdef CONFIG_DM_SPI* to #if CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(DM_SPI) and provides corresponding defines in Kconfig.
