2021-09-11configs: j72*_evm: Define the buffer sizes for dfuAswath Govindraju1-0/+1
On J721e R5 SPL, dfu buffer for loading sysfw.itb image gets allocated before DRAM gets initialized. So, the buffer gets allocated in MCU L3 RAM. The current buffer size to be allocated is 256KB and the available total heap memory is 0x70000 (448KB). This leads to NOMEM errors during allocation. In other cases when constraints such as above are not present fix the size of buffers to the sector size in OSPI for proper functioning. Also, if CONFIG_SYS_DFU_DATA_BUF_SIZE is defined and CONFIG_SYS_DFU_MAX_FILE_SIZE is not defined then the max file size for dfu transfer is defined as CONFIG_SYS_DFU_DATA_BUF_SIZE. Fix these by setting appropriate buffer sizes in their respective defconfig files and defining the max file size as 8 MB which is the default dfu buffer size. 2021-07-27configs: j721e_evm_r5: Disable K3 R5F remoteprocSuman Anna1-1/+0
The J721E R5 SPL will no longer support booting of the Main R5FSS Core0 after the R5 SPL re-architecture for System Firmware split. The MCU R5F branch-only boot does not use the K3 R5F remoteproc driver, and relies only on the filesystem (FS) support for now. The K3 R5F remoteproc driver is therefore no longer needed in R5 SPL, so drop it from the J721E R5 defconfig. 2020-06-29spi: Convert CONFIG_DM_SPI* to CONFIG_$(SPL_TPL_)DM_SPI*Lukasz Majewski1-0/+2
This change allows more fine tuning of driver model based SPI support in SPL and TPL. It is now possible to explicitly enable/disable the DM_SPI support in SPL and TPL via Kconfig option. Before this change it was necessary to use: /* SPI Flash Configs */ #if defined(CONFIG_SPL_BUILD) #undef CONFIG_DM_SPI #undef CONFIG_DM_SPI_FLASH #undef CONFIG_SPI_FLASH_MTD #endif in the ./include/configs/<board>.h, which is error prone and shall be avoided when we strive to switch to Kconfig. The goal of this patch: Provide distinction for DM_SPI support in both U-Boot proper and SPL (TPL). Valid use case is when U-Boot proper wants to use DM_SPI, but SPL must still support non DM driver. Another use case is the conversion of non DM/DTS SPI driver to support DM/DTS. When such driver needs to work in both SPL and U-Boot proper, the distinction is needed in Kconfig (also if SPL version of the driver supports OF_PLATDATA). In the end of the day one would have to support following use cases (in single driver file - e.g. mxs_spi.c): - U-Boot proper driver supporting DT/DTS - U-Boot proper driver without DT/DTS support (deprecated) - SPL driver without DT/DTS support - SPL (and TPL) driver with DT/DTS (when the SoC has enough resources to run full blown DT/DTS) - SPL driver with DT/DTS and SPL_OF_PLATDATA (when one have constrained environment with no fitImage and OF_LIBFDT support). Some boards do require SPI support (with DM) in SPL (TPL) and some only have DM_SPI{_FLASH} defined to allow compiling SPL. This patch converts #ifdef CONFIG_DM_SPI* to #if CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(DM_SPI) and provides corresponding defines in Kconfig. - In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. The SPL FIT will only have one DTB, so remove support for multi-DTB. This also removes an early access to EEPROM used to select the DTB that is not valid in SPL at the point at which it is accessed, that always returns false for GP devices and causes a firewall expection on HS.
