2021-07-19arm: mvebu: turris_omnia: fixup MTD partitions in Linux' DTBMarek Behún1-0/+1
Fixup SPI NOR partition nodes in Linux' device tree prior booting Linux. Linux' devicetree does not contain "u-boot-env" partition and we do not want to add it there because the address is different between stock U-Boot and current upstream U-Boot. Instead we add code that recreates partition nodes from scratch according to how U-Boot sees them (which is defined in U-Boot's device tree). Now that the MTD subsystem properly supports OF partitions of a SPI NOR, we can enable the MTD command and start using it instead of the deprecated sf command. 2021-07-15arm: mvebu: turris_omnia: force 40 MHz speed on SPI NORMarek Behún1-1/+3
Commit e2e95e5e2542 ("spi: Update speed/mode on change") changed the boot time on Turris Omnia from ~2.3s to over 8s, due to SPL loading main U-Boot from SPI NOR at 1 MHz instead of 40 MHz. This is because the SPL code passes the CONFIG_SF_DEFAULT_SPEED option to spi_flash_probe(), and with the above commit spi_flash_probe() starts prefering this parameter instead of the one specified in device-tree. The proper solution here would probably be to fix the SF subsystem to prefer the frequency specified in the device-tree, if it is present, but I am not sure what else will be affected on other boards with such a change. So until then we need a more simple fix. Since the CONFIG_SF_DEFAULT_SPEED option is used by the code, put the correct value there for Turris Omnia. Also put the correct value to CONFIG_SF_DEFAULT_MODE and use 40 MHz when reading environment. 2020-04-22arm: mvebu: correct SPL boot configs for SPI/MMCJoel Johnson1-4/+0
Update mvebu SPL boot selection mechanism for the move to driver model usage by ensuring that the required driver support for SPI and MMC booting is available in SPL when the respective boot method is selected. Previously, all mvebu boards selected a boot method (implicitly MVEBU_SPL_BOOT_DEVICE_SPI for many) even if SPL booting wasn't used. This changes mvebu boot method selection to depend on SPL usage which resolves the issue with aarch64 boards which don't use SPL getting an implicit boot device selection resulting in unmet dependencies. The 32-bit arm boards do use SPL, but I'm led to conclude that most aren't intentionally using the MVEBU_SPL_BOOT_DEVICE selection since none have SPL_DM_SPI enabled in their defconfig even though they still implicitly select the SPI boot method. This also results in the new addition of SPL_GPIO_SUPPORT to helios4. The mainline dts for helios4 includes the cd-gpios entry for sdhci with identical addresses as the clearfog dts. I don't have a helios4 board to confirm, but based on the current source conclude that the board itself is either wired to pull the signal low for eMMC, or the default MMC boot isn't fully functional in mainline. In either case, as far as I can tell, including the GPIO support will at least cause no regression. Tested on SolidRun ClearFog devices. 2019-11-21env: Finish migration of common ENV optionsTom Rini1-0/+3
- In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms.
