2017-10-04printk: collect printk stuff into <linux/printk.h> with loglevel supportMasahiro Yamada1-3/+0
When we import code from Linux, with regular re-sync planned, we want to use printk() and pr_*(). U-Boot does not support them in a clean way. So, people end up with local macros, or compat headers here and there, then we occasionally see build errors of definition conflicts. We have include/linux/compat.h, but putting all sorts of unrelated things into a single header is just a temporal workaround. Hence this patch, to find the best home for all printk variants. If you want to use printk() and friends, please include <linux/printk.h>. This header is self-contained, and pulls in only a few headers. When I was testing this clean-up, I noticed the image size exceeded its platform limit on some boards. This is because all pr_*() that were previously defined as no-op in include/linux/mtd/mtd.h (unless CONFIG_MTD_DEBUG is set), are now enabled. To make such boards happy, this commit also implements CONFIG_LOGLEVEL. The concept is similar to the kernel parameter "loglevel". (Actually, the Kconfig help message was taken from kernel-paremeter.txt of Linux) Messages with a loglevel smaller than console loglevel will be printed. The difference is the loglevel is build-time determined. To save the image size, lower priority pr_*() are compiled out. I set the default of CONFIG_LOGLEVEL to 6, i.e. pr_notice and higher priority messages are compiled in. I adjusted CONFIG_LOGLEVEL to avoid build error for some boards. 2015-01-24bios_emulator: Fix an #ifdef typo in the header fileSimon Glass1-1/+1
This stops the debug mode from working properly. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com>
2014-11-25bios_emulator: Always print errors when opcode decode failsSimon Glass1-1/+5
This is a rare event and should not happen. When it does it is confusing to work out why. At least we should print a message. Adjust the emulator to always print decode errors to the console. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2014-11-25bios_emulator: Add an option to enable debuggingSimon Glass3-10/+10
At present there are DEBUG options spread around the place. If you enable one and not another you can end up with an emulator that does not work, since each file can have a different view of what the registers look like. To fix this, create a global CONFIG_X86EMU_DEBUG option that keeps everything consistent. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2014-11-25bios_emulator: Allow a custom interrupt handler to be installedSimon Glass1-0/+1
Sometime we want to provide an interrupt handler for the ROM, Add a function to allow this. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2014-11-25bios_emulator: Allow x86 to use the emulatorSimon Glass1-2/+2
There is an implicit assumption that x86 machines want to use raw I/O in the BIOS emulator, but this should be selectable. Add an CONFIG_X86EMU_RAW_IO option to control it instead. Also fix a few bugs which cause warnings on x86 and adjust the Makefile to remove the assumption that only PowerPC uses the emulator. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2014-11-25Introduce a header file for the BIOS emulatorSimon Glass1-51/+2
We should have a public header so that users can avoid defining functions themselves. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>

2013-04-02Consolidate bool typeYork Sun1-2/+2
'bool' is defined in random places. This patch consolidates them into a single header file include/linux/types.h, using stdbool.h introduced in C99. All other #define, typedef and enum are removed. They are all consistent with true = 1, false = 0. Replace FALSE, False with false. Replace TRUE, True with true. Skip *.py, *.php, lib/* files. Signed-off-by: York Sun <yorksun@freescale.com>
