2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini1-2/+1
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. 2017-10-04treewide: replace with error() with pr_err()Masahiro Yamada1-2/+2
U-Boot widely uses error() as a bit noisier variant of printf(). This macro causes name conflict with the following line in include/linux/compiler-gcc.h: # define __compiletime_error(message) __attribute__((error(message))) This prevents us from using __compiletime_error(), and makes it difficult to fully sync BUILD_BUG macros with Linux. (Notice Linux's BUILD_BUG_ON_MSG is implemented by using compiletime_assert().) Let's convert error() into now treewide-available pr_err(). Done with the help of Coccinelle, excluing tools/ directory. 2017-06-01dm: Rename dev_addr..() functionsSimon Glass1-1/+1
These support the flat device tree. We want to use the dev_read_..() prefix for functions that support both flat tree and live tree. So rename the existing functions to avoid confusion. In the end we will have: 1. dev_read_addr...() - works on devices, supports flat/live tree 2. devfdt_get_addr...() - current functions, flat tree only 3. of_get_address() etc. - new functions, live tree only All drivers will be written to use 1. That function will in turn call either 2 or 3 depending on whether the flat or live tree is in use. Note this involves changing some dead code - the imx_lpi2c.c file. 2015-01-30dm: i2c: Move slave details to child platdataSimon Glass1-18/+0
At present we go through various contortions to store the I2C's chip address in its private data. This only exists when the chip is active so must be set up when it is probed. Until the device is probed we don't actually record what address it will appear on. However, now that we can support per-child platform data, we can use that instead. This allows us to set up the address when the child is bound, and avoid the messy contortions. Unfortunately this is a fairly large change and it seems to be difficult to break it down further. 2014-07-03i2c: tegra: write clean data to TX FIFOStephen Warren1-5/+7
The Tegra I2C controller's TX FIFO contains 32-bit words. If the final FIFO entry of a transaction contains fewer than 4 bytes, the driver currently fills the unused FIFO bytes with uninitialized data. This can be confusing when reading back the FIFO content for debugging purposes. Solve this by explicitly initializing the variable containing FIFO data before filling it (partially) with data. I2C read transactions are typically implemented as follows: START(write) address REPEATED_START(read) data... STOP However, Tegra's I2C driver currently implements reads as follows: START(write) address STOP START(read) data... STOP This sequence confuses at least the AS3722 PMIC on the Jetson TK1 board, leading to corrupted read data in some cases. 2013-03-14Tegra: I2C: Add T114 clock support to tegra_i2c driverTom Warren1-5/+37
T114 has a slightly different I2C clock, with a new (extra) divisor in standard/fast mode and HS mode. Tested on my Dalmore, and the I2C clock is 100KHz +/- 3Hz on my Saleae Logic analyzer. Added a new entry in compat_names for T114 I2C since it differs from the previous Tegra SoCs. A flag is set when T114 I2C HW is found so new features like the extra clock divisor can be used. 2012-10-15Tegra20: Move some include files to arch-tegra for sharing with Tegra30Tom Warren1-2/+2
The move is pretty straight-forward. ap20.h and tegra20.h were renamed to ap.h and tegra.h. Some files remain in arch-tegra20 but 'include' a file in 'arch-tegra' with #defines & structs that will be common between T20 and T30 HW. HW-specific #defines, etc. stay in the 'arch-tegra20' 'root' file. All boards build OK w/MAKEALL -s tegra20. Checkpatch.pl runs clean. Seaboard works OK.
