2021-01-05dm: Use access methods for dev/uclass private dataSimon Glass1-6/+6
Most drivers use these access methods but a few do not. Update them. In some cases the access is not permitted, so mark those with a FIXME tag for the maintainer to check. 2020-12-14dm: treewide: Rename ..._platdata variables to just ..._platSimon Glass1-8/+8
Try to maintain some consistency between these variables by using _plat as a suffix for them. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-12-14dm: treewide: Rename ofdata_to_platdata() to of_to_plat()Simon Glass1-2/+2
This name is far too long. Rename it to remove the 'data' bits. This makes it consistent with the platdata->plat rename. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-12-14dm: treewide: Rename 'platdata' variables to just 'plat'Simon Glass1-7/+7
We use 'priv' for private data but often use 'platdata' for platform data. We can't really use 'pdata' since that is ambiguous (it could mean private or platform data). Rename some of the latter variables to end with 'plat' for consistency. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-12-13dm: treewide: Rename auto_alloc_size members to be shorterSimon Glass1-1/+1
This construct is quite long-winded. In earlier days it made some sense since auto-allocation was a strange concept. But with driver model now used pretty universally, we can shorten this to 'auto'. This reduces verbosity and makes it easier to read. Coincidentally it also ensures that every declaration is on one line, thus making dtoc's job easier. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>

2020-07-27serial: meson: handle RX errorsNeil Armstrong1-4/+39
This checks and handles RX errors on the Amlogic UART controller after experiencing errors on the Khadas VIM3 & VIM3L when UART AO A lines are not connected. When the RX line is not connected, the first byte is erroneous and breaks the U-Boot autoboot, breaking automatic boot. This checks and drops any erroneous RX byte on pending and getc callbacks to avoid returning true to pending when an error byte is in the FIFO. 2020-07-25treewide: convert devfdt_get_addr() to dev_read_addr()Masahiro Yamada1-1/+1
When you enable CONFIG_OF_LIVE, you will end up with a lot of conversions. To generate this commit, I used coccinelle excluding drivers/core/, include/dm/, and test/ The semantic patch that makes this change is as follows: <smpl> @@ expression dev; @@ -devfdt_get_addr(dev) +dev_read_addr(dev) </smpl> Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>

This reverts commit 5d3a21df6694ebd66d5c34c9d62a26edc7456fc7, reversing changes made to 56d37f1c564107e27d873181d838571b7d7860e7. Unfortunately this is causing CI failures: https://travis-ci.org/github/trini/u-boot/jobs/711313649 Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>

2018-11-14serial: Remove DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in various driversBin Meng1-1/+0
When a driver declares DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag, it wishes to be bound before relocation. However due to a bug in the DM core, the flag only takes effect when devices are statically declared via U_BOOT_DEVICE(). This bug has been fixed recently by commit "dm: core: Respect drivers with the DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in lists_bind_fdt()", but with the fix, it has a side effect that all existing drivers that declared DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag will be bound before relocation now. This may expose potential boot failure on some boards due to insufficient memory during the pre-relocation stage. To mitigate this potential impact, the following changes are implemented: - Remove DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in the driver, if the driver only supports configuration from device tree (OF_CONTROL) - Keep DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in the driver only if the device is statically declared via U_BOOT_DEVICE() - Surround DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag with OF_CONTROL check, for drivers that support both statically declared devices and configuration from device tree Signed-off-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com> Reviewed-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini1-2/+1
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2018-04-27Remove unnecessary instances of DECLARE_GLOBAL_DATA_PTRTom Rini1-2/+0
We have a large number of places where while we historically referenced gd in the code we no longer do, as well as cases where the code added that line "just in case" during development and never dropped it. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2018-04-10serial: meson: Update compatible with new Linux bindingsNeil Armstrong1-0/+1
The Amlogic Meson SoCs serial bindings were not written when serial support was pushed into Linux and U-Boot. A clean bindings document has been merged into Linux tree to correctly handle the multiple clocks feeding the serial peripheral. This update the U-Boot serial_meson driver with the new compatible string for Amlogic Meson GX Socs. 2017-06-01dm: Rename dev_addr..() functionsSimon Glass1-1/+1
These support the flat device tree. We want to use the dev_read_..() prefix for functions that support both flat tree and live tree. So rename the existing functions to avoid confusion. In the end we will have: 1. dev_read_addr...() - works on devices, supports flat/live tree 2. devfdt_get_addr...() - current functions, flat tree only 3. of_get_address() etc. - new functions, live tree only All drivers will be written to use 1. That function will in turn call either 2 or 3 depending on whether the flat or live tree is in use. Note this involves changing some dead code - the imx_lpi2c.c file. 2016-05-27arm: add initial support for Amlogic Meson and ODROID-C2Beniamino Galvani1-0/+162
This adds platform code for the Amlogic Meson GXBaby (S905) SoC and a board definition for ODROID-C2. This initial submission only supports UART and Ethernet (through the existing Designware driver). DTS files are the ones submitted to Linux arm-soc for 4.7 [1].
