2021-07-24serial: pl011: Enable DEBUG_UART_PL011 in SPLChen Baozi1-2/+6
Commit b81406db51a6 ("arm: serial: Add debug UART capability to the pl01x driver") add supports to use pl01x as a debug UART. However, due to CONFIG_IS_ENABLED macro requires CONFIG_SPL_* prefix, the _debug_uart_init() would not choose TYPE_PL011 in SPL build. This patch fixes the bug by judging CONFIG_DEBUG_UART_PL011 explicitly. Signed-off-by: Chen Baozi <chenbaozi@phytium.com.cn> Reviewed-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>

2020-12-13dm: treewide: Rename auto_alloc_size members to be shorterSimon Glass1-2/+2
This construct is quite long-winded. In earlier days it made some sense since auto-allocation was a strange concept. But with driver model now used pretty universally, we can shorten this to 'auto'. This reduces verbosity and makes it easier to read. Coincidentally it also ensures that every declaration is on one line, thus making dtoc's job easier. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>

2020-05-07uart: pl011: Add proper DM clock supportAndre Przywara1-16/+33
Even though the PL011 UART driver claims to be DM compliant, it does not really a good job with parsing DT nodes. U-Boot seems to adhere to a non-standard binding, either requiring to have a "skip-init" property in the node, or to have an extra "clock" property holding the base *frequency* value for the baud rate generator. DTs in the U-Boot tree seem to have been hacked to match this requirement. The official binding does not mention any of these properties, instead recommends a standard "clocks" property to point to the baud base clock. Some boards use simple "fixed-clock" providers, which U-Boot readily supports, so let's add some simple DM clock code to the PL011 driver to learn the rate of the first clock, as described by the official binding. These clock nodes seem to be not ready very early in the boot process, so provide a fallback value, by re-using the already existing CONFIG_PL011_CLOCK variable. 2018-11-14serial: Remove DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in various driversBin Meng1-0/+2
When a driver declares DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag, it wishes to be bound before relocation. However due to a bug in the DM core, the flag only takes effect when devices are statically declared via U_BOOT_DEVICE(). This bug has been fixed recently by commit "dm: core: Respect drivers with the DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in lists_bind_fdt()", but with the fix, it has a side effect that all existing drivers that declared DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag will be bound before relocation now. This may expose potential boot failure on some boards due to insufficient memory during the pre-relocation stage. To mitigate this potential impact, the following changes are implemented: - Remove DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in the driver, if the driver only supports configuration from device tree (OF_CONTROL) - Keep DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in the driver only if the device is statically declared via U_BOOT_DEVICE() - Surround DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag with OF_CONTROL check, for drivers that support both statically declared devices and configuration from device tree Signed-off-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com> Reviewed-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini1-2/+1
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>

These support the flat device tree. We want to use the dev_read_..() prefix for functions that support both flat tree and live tree. So rename the existing functions to avoid confusion. In the end we will have: 1. dev_read_addr...() - works on devices, supports flat/live tree 2. devfdt_get_addr...() - current functions, flat tree only 3. of_get_address() etc. - new functions, live tree only All drivers will be written to use 1. commit aed2fbef5e9a0ab5a7cd01e742039a962f0b24ef "dm: serial: Tidy up the pl01x driver" caused a regression on (real hardware) PL010 by omitting to update the line control register when switching baudrate. Fix this by inlining the missing write to the baud control register. Adjust the driver so that leaf functions take a pointer to the serial port register base. Put all the global configuration in the init function, and use the same settings from then on. This makes it much easier to move to driver model without duplicating the code, since with driver model we use platform data rather than global settings. The driver is compiled with either the CONFIG_PL010_SERIAL or CONFIG_PL011_SERIAL option and this determines the uart type. With driver model this needs to come in from platform data, so create a new CONFIG_PL01X_SERIAL config which brings in the driver, and adjust the driver to support both peripheral variants.
