2021-09-18Revert "efi_capsule: Move signature from DTB to .rodata"Simon Glass1-2/+0
This was unfortunately applied despite much discussion about it beiong the wrong way to implement this feature. Revert it before too many other things are built on top of it. This reverts commit ddf67daac39de76d2697d587148f4c2cb768f492. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2021-07-18efi_capsule: Move signature from DTB to .rodataIlias Apalodimas1-0/+2
The capsule signature is now part of our DTB. This is problematic when a user is allowed to change/fixup that DTB from U-Boots command line since he can overwrite the signature as well. So Instead of adding the key on the DTB, embed it in the u-boot binary it self as part of it's .rodata. This assumes that the U-Boot binary we load is authenticated by a previous boot stage loader. 2021-03-26dm: core: Allow storing priv/plat data separatelySimon Glass1-0/+3
At present the device priv/data data allocated by dtoc is stored in the data section along with other variables. On some platforms it is better to allocate space for it separately, e.g. if SPL is running from read-only memory. Create a new space with the same size as that allocated by dtoc, ready for use. 2020-07-16efi_loader: pre-seed UEFI variablesHeinrich Schuchardt1-0/+2
Include a file with the initial values for non-volatile UEFI variables into the U-Boot binary. If this variable is set, changes to variable PK will not be allowed. Signed-off-by: Heinrich Schuchardt <xypron.glpk@gmx.de>

2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini1-2/+1
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2017-09-19efi_loader: rename __efi_hello_world_*Heinrich Schuchardt1-2/+2
In scripts/Makefile.lib we build section including helloworld.efi. This allows to load the EFI binary with command 'bootefi hello'. scripts/Makefile.lib contains explicit references to strings containing helloworld and hello_world. This makes it impossible to generalize the coding to accomodate additional built in EFI binaries. Let us rename the variables __efi_hello_world_* to __efi_helloworld_*. 2016-11-15efi: Add support for a hello world test programSimon Glass1-0/+2
It is useful to have a basic sanity check for EFI loader support. Add a 'bootefi hello' command which loads HelloWord.efi and runs it under U-Boot. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> [agraf: Fix documentation, add unfulfilled kconfig dep] Signed-off-by: Alexander Graf <agraf@suse.de>

2015-11-04dm: spl: Support device tree when BSS is in a different sectionSimon Glass1-0/+1
At present in SPL we place the device tree immediately after BSS. This avoids needing to copy it out of the way before BSS can be used. However on some boards BSS is not placed with the image - e.g. it can be in RAM if available. Add an option to tell U-Boot that the device tree should be placed at the end of the image binary (_image_binary_end) instead of at the end of BSS. Note: A common reason to place BSS in RAM is to support the FAT filesystem. We should update the code so that it does not use so much BSS. 2013-03-16Introduce generic link section.h symbol filesSimon Glass1-0/+117
We create a separate header file for link symbols defined by the link scripts. It is helpful to have these all in one place and try to make them common across architectures. Since Linux already has a similar file, we bring this in even though many of the symbols there are not relevant to us. Each architecture has its own asm/sections.h where symbols specifc to that architecture can be added. For now everything except AVR32 just includes the generic header. One change is needed in arch/avr32/lib/board.c to make this conversion work. Reviewed-by: Tom Rini <trini@ti.com> (version 5) Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
