2021-09-08arm: Finish migration of CONFIG_MACH_TYPETom Rini1-3/+0
As this is only useful when booting with ATAGs, which are now largely disabled, remove this value for the remaining platforms. We have a few places in the code that had been testing for MACH_TYPE as a sort of internal logic. Update those to use different but still correct CONFIG symbols. 2021-09-07arm: Disable ATAGs supportTom Rini1-4/+0
With the exceptions of ds109, ds414, icnova-a20-swac, nokia_rx51 and stemmy, disable ATAG support. A large number of platforms had enabled support but never supported a kernel so old as to require it. Further, some platforms are old enough to support both, but are well supported by devicetree booting, and have been for a number of years. This is because some of the ATAGs related functions have been re-used to provide the same kind of information, but for devicetree or just generally to inform the user. When needed still, rename these functions to get_board_revision() instead, to avoid conflicts. In other cases, these functions were simply unused, so drop them. - In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. 2019-07-09at91, omap2plus: configs: migrate CONFIG_ENV_ to defconfigsMarkus Klotzbuecher1-5/+0
Enable the extended ENV options for AT91 and OMAP2PLUS in order to be able to use CONFIG_ENV_UBI_* on these architectures. As this change also makes the configs ENV_SIZE, ENV_SECT_SIZE, ENV_OFFSET visible to AT91 and OMAP2PLUS, migrate users of these to KConfig. This migration was run using an extended moveconfig.py which evaluates expressions such as "(512 << 10)". See patch ("moveconfig: expand simple expressions"). All modified boards were built with SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH=0 before and after the change and successfully confirmed that the identical binary is generated (the only exception was igep00x0, which does not define CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI in the original board header. 2019-05-28board/BuR: invalidate ${dtbaddr} before cfgscrHannes Schmelzer1-3/+8
The first memory location of ${dtbaddr} may be still valid after a warm restart of the machine and 'fdt addr ${dtbaddr}' doesn't recognize that the cfgscript didn't run properly and fallback mechanism with copying the internal fdt ${fdtcontroladdr} to ${dtbaddr} doesn't catch this. To get sure that we have proper failsafe behaviour we simply zero the first memory location of ${dtbaddr} for getting sure that the fdt is invalid if cfgscript didn't run. With this commit we do: - set the bootdelay in all brppt1 defconfigs to 0, this makes development easier, since we can break into serial console. - move CONFIG_BOOTCOMMAND from header file to defconfig - introduce b_mode variable for selecting the final boot-target. This b_mode represents the boot-switch, which can found on most b&r targets. On the brppt1 this boot-switch is derived from some gpio and the bootcounter within the RTC block, making it so possible to force a boot-target (as example for repair-case). - refactor the environment for booting new flexible way primary we want to get some bootscr.img within the mass-storage, this script then loads everything needed for the boot. This patch drops the lcd-screen setup, the summary screen and getting mac-addresses based on a previous loaded device-tree for linux targets. Selecting those linux target is simple, since we have only the brppt1. In detail we do: - drop the common lcd-setup code which relys on a fdt_blob - drop the common dtb loading mechanism - drop the now obsolete CONFIG_USE_FDT from board header and whitelist. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini1-2/+1
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. Migrate the users of CONFIG_SYS_BOOTCOUNT_ADDR to Kconfig. We can provide a default for BOOTCOUNT_AM33XX as that's a specific part of the RTC in use. We can also provide a default for ARCH_LS1043A and ARCH_LS1021A as they had been previously calculated and their symbols are in Kconfig. In the case of other QE-enabled platforms, they are not so we must update the relevant defconfig files. The previous default only applied in some cases, even on a specific SoC family. This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_NAND CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI CONFIG_ENV_IS_NOWHERE In fact this already exists for sunxi as a 'choice' config. However not all the choices are available in Kconfig yet so we cannot use that. It would lead to more than one option being set. In addition, one purpose of this series is to allow the environment to be stored in more than one place. So the existing choice is converted to a normal config allowing each option to be set independently. There are not many opportunities for Kconfig updates to reduce the size of this patch. This was tested with ./tools/moveconfig.py -i CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC And then manual updates. This is because for CHAIN_OF_TRUST boards they can only have ENV_IS_NOWHERE set, so we enforce that via Kconfig logic now. 2017-01-31mmc: move CONFIG_GENERIC_MMC to KconfigMasahiro Yamada1-1/+0
Now, CONFIG_GENERIC_MMC seems equivalent to CONFIG_MMC. Let's create an entry for "config GENERIC_MMC" with "default MMC", then convert all macro defines in headers to Kconfig. Almost all of the defines will go away. I see only two exceptions: configs/blanche_defconfig configs/sandbox_noblk_defconfig They define CONFIG_GENERIC_MMC, but not CONFIG_MMC. Something might be wrong with these two boards, so should be checked later. Anyway, this is the output of the moveconfig tool. Commit 7a777f6d6f35 ("mmc: Add generic Kconfig option") created a Kconfig entry for this option without any actual moves, then commit 44c798799f66 ("sunxi: Use Kconfig CONFIG_MMC") moved instances only for SUNXI. We generally do not like such partial moves. This kind of work is automated by tools/moveconfig.py, so it is pretty easy to complete this move. I am adding "default ARM || PPC || SANDBOX" (suggested by Tom). This shortens the configs and will ease new board porting.
