2021-09-07arm: Disable ATAGs supportTom Rini1-3/+0
With the exceptions of ds109, ds414, icnova-a20-swac, nokia_rx51 and stemmy, disable ATAG support. A large number of platforms had enabled support but never supported a kernel so old as to require it. Further, some platforms are old enough to support both, but are well supported by devicetree booting, and have been for a number of years. This is because some of the ATAGs related functions have been re-used to provide the same kind of information, but for devicetree or just generally to inform the user. When needed still, rename these functions to get_board_revision() instead, to avoid conflicts. In other cases, these functions were simply unused, so drop them. 2021-03-15ARM: da850-evm: Fix boot issues from missing SPL_PAD_TOAdam Ford1-1/+5
In a previous attempt to unify config options and remove items from the whitelist file, SPL items were moved into a section enabled with CONFIG_SPL_BUILD. Unfortunately, SPL_PAD_TO is referenced at the head Makefile and uses this define to create padding of the output file. When it was moved to CONFIG_SPL_BUILD, it caused boot errors with devices that are not booting from NOR. Fix the boot issues by moving SPL_PAD_TO out so it's always. 2020-07-13ARM: da850-evm: Unify config options with KconfigAdam Ford1-18/+5
There are two options that are currently whitelisted, but they are redundant, because there are not necessary since Kconfig options exist to basically state the same thing. CONFIG_DIRECT_NOR_BOOT and CONFIG_USE_NOR are both set together and only used by the da850 when booting from NOR, however the only time CONFIG_MTD_NOR_FLASH is configured is when booting from NOR. Since NOR doesn't need SPL, the options for SPL can be moved to a check for building SPL instead of checking for NOR. This patch removes the checks for these two config options and unifies the checks around the Kconfig option of CONFIG_MTD_NOR_FLASH. 2019-10-24mtd: spi: Clean up usage of CONFIG_SPI_FLASH_MTDFrieder Schrempf1-6/+1
Most boards currently use SPI_FLASH_MTD only in U-Boot proper, not in SPL. They often rely on hacks in the board header files to include this option conditionally. To be able to fix this, we previously introduced a separate option SPL_SPI_FLASH_MTD. Therefore we can now adjust the Makefile and change the code in sf_probe.c and sf_internal.h to use CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(SPI_FLASH_MTD). We also need to move all occurences of CONFIG_SPI_FLASH_MTD from the header files to the according defconfigs. The affected boards are socfpga, aristainetos, cm_fx6, display5, ventana, rcar-gen2, dh_imx6 and da850evm. We do this all in one patch to guarantee bisectibility. This change was tested with buildman to make sure it does not introduce any regressions by comparing the resulting binary sizes. 2019-08-12ARM: da850-evm: Increase environment NOR partition offsetAdam Ford1-1/+1
The current size allocated to U-Boot is 384k, but U-Boot has grown to 436K which means that saving the environmental variables wipes out part of the U-Boot source and the board ceases to function. Due to the sector and erase size for the NOR part and a desire to not have to change partition sizes often, this patch moves the U-Boot environmental variables to an offset of 1M so saveenv does not brick the board. 2019-08-12ARM: da850-evm: Fix Lowlevel initAdam Ford1-1/+1
A previous patch for enabling the NAND config set a flag called CONFIG_SKIP_LOWLEVEL_INIT when it should have been called CONFIG_SKIP_LOWLEVEL_INIT_ONLY. The affect this had was creating a delay on startup for the NOR version which is XIP and doesn't have SPL, so the lowlevel initialization functions need to operate. This delay was not really noticeable at first, but the delays have been getting longer, finally reached the point of nearly seven seconds before the board would appear to start. This patch sets the CONFIG_SKIP_LOWLEVEL_INIT_ONLY instead which means "The normal CP15 init (such as enabling the instruction cache) is still performed" per the README. It doesn't appear to have any adverse behavior on the SPI Flash or the NAND flash boards which use SPL. 2019-04-12davinci: da850evm/omapl138-lcdk: Move BSS to SDRAM because SRAM is fullAdam Ford1-1/+2
In order to fully support SPL_OF_CONTROL, we need BSS to be a bit larger. This patch relocates BSS to SDRAM instead of SRAM which is similar to how ARMv7 boards (like OMAP2+) do it. This means two new variables are required: CONFIG_SPL_BSS_START_ADDR set to DAVINCI_DDR_EMIF_DATA_BASE CONFIG_SPL_BSS_MAX_SIZE is set to 0x1080000 which is 1 byte before the location where U-Boot will load. When the spi_flash_probe_bus_cs() was previously called, it was called using 0's for two values where CONFIG_ENV_SPI_MAX_HZ and CONFIG_ENV_SPI_MODE are now used. When changed this caused the environment to fail the CRC check and the default was used. This patch defines both of these values back 0. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini1-2/+1
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_CONS_INDEX We have existing entries for this option in a number of places, with different guards on them. They're also sometimes used for things not directly inside of the serial driver. First, introduce a new symbol to guard the use of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX, so that in the case where we don't need this for the serial driver, but for some other use, we can still do it. Next, consolidate all of these into the single entry in drivers/serial/Kconfig. Finally, introduce CONS_INDEX_[023456] so that we can imply a correct value here to make the defconfig side of this smaller. 2018-02-14configs: Migrate CONFIG_SPL_FRAMEWORKTom Rini1-1/+0
Migrate the option CONFIG_SPL_FRAMEWORK and make this gate most of the current set of options we have in Kconfig. We will need to have some options available for SPL and !SPL_FRAMEWORK so this is important. In a few cases we re-order existing options so that we have less escapes from the SPL_FRAMEWORK guard.
