2021-09-07arm: Disable ATAGs supportTom Rini1-5/+0
With the exceptions of ds109, ds414, icnova-a20-swac, nokia_rx51 and stemmy, disable ATAG support. A large number of platforms had enabled support but never supported a kernel so old as to require it. Further, some platforms are old enough to support both, but are well supported by devicetree booting, and have been for a number of years. This is because some of the ATAGs related functions have been re-used to provide the same kind of information, but for devicetree or just generally to inform the user. When needed still, rename these functions to get_board_revision() instead, to avoid conflicts. In other cases, these functions were simply unused, so drop them. CONFIG_SYS_DFU_MAX_FILE_SIZE to Kconfig Currently the config options CONFIG_SYS_DFU_DATA_BUF_SIZE and CONFIG_SYS_DFU_MAX_FILE_SIZE are being set in include/configs/<board>.h files and also in <board_name>_defconfig files without a Kconfig option. It is easier for users to set these configs in defconfig files than in config header files as they are a part of the source code. 2020-05-08cmd: mem: Remove CONFIG_SYS_MEMTEST_SCRATCH mappingMichal Simek1-1/+0
There is no real need to exactly define space for saving patterns for alternate memory test. It is much easier to allocate space on the stack and use it instead of trying to find out space where pattern should be saved. For example if you want to test the whole DDR memory you can't save patter to DDR and you need to find it out. On Xilinx devices DDR or OCM addresses were chosen but that means that OCM needs to be mapped and U-Boot has access permission there. It is easier to remove this limitation and simply save it on stack because it is very clear that memory test can't rewrite U-Boot and U-Boot has also full access to memory where runs from. - In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. 2019-11-21env: Remove useless CONFIG_ENV_SIZE_REDUND and fix ENV_IS_REDUND checkTom Rini1-1/+0
We have CONFIG_ENV_SIZE_IS_REDUND but don't really use it. We have one board where we can simply multiple CONFIG_ENV_SIZE by two for the same result. The other place where we could but were not previously using this is for where env_internal.h checks for if we should set ENV_IS_EMBEDDED. This seems like the most likely use, historically, of the variable, but it was not used. Add logic to check for this now. 2019-10-24mtd: spi: Clean up usage of CONFIG_SPI_FLASH_MTDFrieder Schrempf1-1/+0
Most boards currently use SPI_FLASH_MTD only in U-Boot proper, not in SPL. They often rely on hacks in the board header files to include this option conditionally. To be able to fix this, we previously introduced a separate option SPL_SPI_FLASH_MTD. Therefore we can now adjust the Makefile and change the code in sf_probe.c and sf_internal.h to use CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(SPI_FLASH_MTD). We also need to move all occurences of CONFIG_SPI_FLASH_MTD from the header files to the according defconfigs. The affected boards are socfpga, aristainetos, cm_fx6, display5, ventana, rcar-gen2, dh_imx6 and da850evm. We do this all in one patch to guarantee bisectibility. This change was tested with buildman to make sure it does not introduce any regressions by comparing the resulting binary sizes. This patch enables DM I2C for DHCOM i.MX6 PDK2 boards and removes non DM I2C code. The I2C EEPROM with ethaddr (MAC) is defined in the device tree. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini1-2/+1
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_CONS_INDEX We have existing entries for this option in a number of places, with different guards on them. They're also sometimes used for things not directly inside of the serial driver. First, introduce a new symbol to guard the use of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX, so that in the case where we don't need this for the serial driver, but for some other use, we can still do it. Next, consolidate all of these into the single entry in drivers/serial/Kconfig. Finally, introduce CONS_INDEX_[023456] so that we can imply a correct value here to make the defconfig side of this smaller. Migrate the users of CONFIG_SYS_BOOTCOUNT_ADDR to Kconfig. We can provide a default for BOOTCOUNT_AM33XX as that's a specific part of the RTC in use. We can also provide a default for ARCH_LS1043A and ARCH_LS1021A as they had been previously calculated and their symbols are in Kconfig. In the case of other QE-enabled platforms, they are not so we must update the relevant defconfig files. The previous default only applied in some cases, even on a specific SoC family.
