2021-09-08arm: Finish migration of CONFIG_MACH_TYPETom Rini1-2/+0
As this is only useful when booting with ATAGs, which are now largely disabled, remove this value for the remaining platforms. We have a few places in the code that had been testing for MACH_TYPE as a sort of internal logic. Update those to use different but still correct CONFIG symbols. No iMX platforms have supported ATAG-based booting. They have however re-used the CONFIG_SERIAL_TAG option as a way to enable support of reading the OTP fuses and setting the serial# environment variable in some cases. Change the warp7 support to use this symbol, use this for updating the rest of the imx7 code, and update the imx8 conditionals. 2021-09-04power: Rename CONFIG_POWER to CONFIG_POWER_LEGACYSimon Glass1-1/+1
This option is used in pre-driver model code and much of it has never been converted to driver model. We want to add a new option to enable power support, so we can use a simple rule in the Makefile. Rename this one, which is really about a particular implementation of power. Also update the pmic.h header file so it either includes the legacy API or the driver model one. First, we convert CONFIG_SYS_I2C_LEGACY to Kconfig. Next, as you cannot have SYS_I2C_LEGACY and DM_I2C at the same time, introduce CONFIG_SPL_SYS_I2C_LEGACY so that we can enable the legacy option only in SPL. It is quite confusing that CONFIG_SYS_I2C selects the legacy I2C and CONFIG_DM_I2C selects the current I2C. The deadline to migrate I2C is less than a year away. Also we want to have a CONFIG_I2C for U-Boot proper just like we have CONFIG_SPL_I2C for SPL, so we can simplify the Makefile rules. Rename this symbol so it is clear it is going away. Enable driver model support for FEC ethernet which allows us to remove the iomux and board_eth_init function. Replace the toggling of the ethernet phy reset with dt configuration. Enable driver model support for PCI which allows us to remove the eth1000_initialize() call. Additionally enable PCI_INIT_R to scan for PCI devices on init such as the e1000 that is present on the GW552x. Convert board_pci_fixup to use dm callback and remove pcidisable env variable which is not supported for DM_PCI and thus leave PCI always enabled during init. 2021-04-08imx: ventana: enable dm support for USBTim Harvey1-1/+0
Enable dm support for USB (which also requires dm support for fixed regulators used for vbus enable) and remove usb iomux which is no longer needed. We can remove the handling of otgpwr_en gpio as this is defined in dt as usbotg vbus-supply but we need to keep the handling of USB_HUB_RST# for boards that have a USB HUB as that isn't defined in the dt's currently. 2020-05-08cmd: mem: Remove CONFIG_SYS_MEMTEST_SCRATCH mappingMichal Simek1-1/+0
There is no real need to exactly define space for saving patterns for alternate memory test. It is much easier to allocate space on the stack and use it instead of trying to find out space where pattern should be saved. For example if you want to test the whole DDR memory you can't save patter to DDR and you need to find it out. On Xilinx devices DDR or OCM addresses were chosen but that means that OCM needs to be mapped and U-Boot has access permission there. It is easier to remove this limitation and simply save it on stack because it is very clear that memory test can't rewrite U-Boot and U-Boot has also full access to memory where runs from. 2019-12-15dm: gpio: Allow control of GPIO uclass in SPLSimon Glass1-1/+0
At present if CONFIG_SPL_GPIO_SUPPORT is enabled then the GPIO uclass is included in SPL/TPL without any control for boards. Some boards may want to disable this to reduce code size where GPIOs are not needed in SPL or TPL. Add a new Kconfig option to permit this. Default it to 'y' so that existing boards work correctly. Change existing uses of CONFIG_DM_GPIO to CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(DM_GPIO) to preserve the current behaviour. Also update the 74x164 GPIO driver since it cannot build with SPL. This allows us to remove the hacks in config_uncmd_spl.h and Makefile.uncmd_spl (eventually those files should be removed). - In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. 2019-11-21env: Remove useless CONFIG_ENV_SIZE_REDUND and fix ENV_IS_REDUND checkTom Rini1-1/+0
We have CONFIG_ENV_SIZE_IS_REDUND but don't really use it. We have one board where we can simply multiple CONFIG_ENV_SIZE by two for the same result. The other place where we could but were not previously using this is for where env_internal.h checks for if we should set ENV_IS_EMBEDDED. This seems like the most likely use, historically, of the variable, but it was not used. Add logic to check for this now. 2019-10-24mtd: spi: Clean up usage of CONFIG_SPI_FLASH_MTDFrieder Schrempf1-9/+1
Most boards currently use SPI_FLASH_MTD only in U-Boot proper, not in SPL. They often rely on hacks in the board header files to include this option conditionally. To be able to fix this, we previously introduced a separate option SPL_SPI_FLASH_MTD. Therefore we can now adjust the Makefile and change the code in sf_probe.c and sf_internal.h to use CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(SPI_FLASH_MTD). We also need to move all occurences of CONFIG_SPI_FLASH_MTD from the header files to the according defconfigs. The affected boards are socfpga, aristainetos, cm_fx6, display5, ventana, rcar-gen2, dh_imx6 and da850evm. We do this all in one patch to guarantee bisectibility. This change was tested with buildman to make sure it does not introduce any regressions by comparing the resulting binary sizes. Now that new SPI NOR layer uses stateless 4 byte opcodes by default, don't enable SPI_FLASH_BAR. For SPI controllers that cannot support 4-byte addressing, (stm32_qspi.c, fsl_qspi.c, mtk_qspi.c, ich.c, renesas_rpc_spi.c) add an imply clause to enable SPI_FLASH_BAR so as to not break functionality. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini1-2/+1
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. We move all instances of CONFIG_MTDIDS_DEFAULT and CONFIG_MTDPARTS_DEFAULT from the header files to the defconfig files. 2017-09-11ipu_common: Let the MX6 IPU clock be calculated in run-timeFabio Estevam1-1/+0
MX6Q/QP IPU operates at 264MHz and MX6DL IPU at 198MHz. When running a SPL target, which supports multiple MX6 variants we cannot properly setup the IPU clock frequency via CONFIG_IPUV3_CLK option as such decision is done in build-time currently. Remove the CONFIG_IPUV3_CLK option and let the IPU clock frequency be configured in run-time on mx6.
