2020-07-21dt-bindings: thermal: Get rid of thermal.txt and replace referencesAmit Kucheria3-4/+5
Now that we have yaml bindings for the thermal subsystem, get rid of the old bindings (thermal.txt). Replace all references to thermal.txt in the Documentation with a link to the appropriate YAML bindings using the following search and replace pattern: - If the reference is specific to the thermal-sensor-cells property, replace with a pointer to thermal-sensor.yaml - If the reference is to the cooling-cells property, replace with a pointer to thermal-cooling-devices.yaml - If the reference is generic thermal bindings, replace with a reference to thermal*.yaml. 2019-10-10cpufreq: ti-cpufreq: omap36xx use "cpu0","vbb" if run in multi_regulator modeH. Nikolaus Schaller1-1/+5
In preparation for using the multi_regulator capability of this driver for handling the ABB LDO for OPP1G of the omap36xx we have to take care that the (legacy) vdd-supply name is cpu0-supply = <&vcc>; To do this we add another field to the SoC description table which optionally can specify a list of regulator names. For omap36xx we define "cpu0-supply" and "vbb-supply". The default remains "vdd-supply" and "vbb-supply". Signed-off-by: H. Most of the ARM platforms used v2 OPP bindings to support big-little configurations. This arm_big_little_dt binding is incomplete and was never used. 'interrupt-parent' is often documented as part of define bindings, but it is really outside the scope of a device binding. It's never required in a given node as it is often inherited from a parent node. Or it can be implicit if a parent node is an 'interrupt-controller' node. So remove it from all the binding files. Add the device tree bindings document for the TI CPUFreq/OPP driver on AM33xx, AM43xx, DRA7xx, and AM57xx SoCs. The operating-points-v2 binding allows us to provide an opp-supported-hw property for each OPP to define when it is available. This driver is responsible for reading and parsing registers to determine which OPPs can be selectively enabled based on the specific SoC in use by matching against the opp-supported-hw data. Device tree binding for NVIDIA Tegra have traditionally carried the "nvidia," vendor prefix in the filename. A couple of odd ones don't, so fix them up for consistency. 2014-10-03cpufreq: cpu0: rename driver and internals to 'cpufreq_dt'Viresh Kumar1-4/+4
The naming convention of this driver was always under the scanner, people complained that it should have a more generic name than cpu0, as it manages all CPUs that are sharing clock lines. Also, in future it will be modified to support any number of clusters with separate clock/voltage lines. Lets rename it to 'cpufreq_dt' from 'cpufreq_cpu0'. 2014-07-16cpufreq: cpu0: OPPs can be populated at runtimeViresh Kumar1-2/+4
OPPs can be populated statically, via DT, or added at run time with dev_pm_opp_add(). While this driver handles the first case correctly, it would fail to populate OPPs added at runtime. Because call to of_init_opp_table() would fail as there are no OPPs in DT and probe will return early. To fix this, remove error checking and call dev_pm_opp_init_cpufreq_table() unconditionally. Update bindings as well. 2013-12-04cpufreq: cpufreq-cpu0: add dt node parsing for cooling device propertiesEduardo Valentin1-0/+7
This patch changes the cpufreq-cpu0 driver to consider if a cpu needs cooling (with cpufreq). In case the cooling is needed, the cpu0 device tree node needs to be properly configured with cooling device properties. In case these properties are present,, the driver will load a cpufreq cooling device in the system. The cpufreq-cpu0 driver is not interested in determining how the system should be using the cooling device. The driver is responsible only of loading the cooling device. Describing how the cooling device will be used can be accomplished by setting up a thermal zone that references and is composed by the cpufreq cooling device. Cc: "Rafael J. 2013-04-10cpufreq: exynos: Add cpufreq driver for exynos5440Amit Daniel Kachhap1-0/+28
This patch adds dvfs support for exynos5440 SOC. This soc has 4 cores and they scale at same frequency. The nature of exynos5440 clock controller is different from previous exynos controllers so not using the common exynos cpufreq framework. The major difference being interrupt notification for frequency change. Also, OPP library is used for device tree parsing to get different parameters like frequency, voltage etc. Since the opp library sorts the frequency table in ascending order so they are again re-arranged in descending order. This will have one-to-one mapping with the clock controller state management logic. The driver is divided into two parts: - Core driver: Generic and shared across all big LITTLE SoC's - Glue drivers: Per platform drivers providing ops to the core driver This patch adds in a generic glue driver which would extract information from Device Tree. Future SoC's can either reuse the DT glue or write their own depending on the need.
