2021-02-09x86/apb_timer: Remove driver for deprecated platformAndy Shevchenko1-11/+0
Intel Moorestown and Medfield are quite old Intel Atom based 32-bit platforms, which were in limited use in some Android phones, tablets and consumer electronics more than eight years ago. There are no bugs or problems ever reported outside from Intel for breaking any of that platforms for years. It seems no real users exists who run more or less fresh kernel on it. Commit 05f4434bc130 ("ASoC: Intel: remove mfld_machine") is also in align with this theory. Due to above and to reduce a burden of supporting outdated drivers, remove the support for outdated platforms completely. Use a more generic form for __section that requires quotes to avoid complications with clang and gcc differences. Remove the quote operator # from compiler_attributes.h __section macro. 2018-07-03x86/platform/intel-mid: Remove custom TSC calibrationAndy Shevchenko1-14/+0
Since the commit 7da7c1561366 ("x86, tsc: Add static (MSR) TSC calibration on Intel Atom SoCs") introduced a common way for all Intel MID chips to get their TSC frequency via MSRs, there is no need to keep a duplication in each of Intel MID platform code. Thus, remove the custom calibration code for good. Note, there is slight difference in how to get frequency for (reserved?) values in MSRs, i.e. legacy code enforces some defaults while new code just uses 0 in that cases. 2016-11-07x86/platform/intel-mid: Retrofit pci_platform_pm_ops ->get_state hookLukas Wunner1-0/+1
Commit cc7cc02bada8 ("PCI: Query platform firmware for device power state") augmented struct pci_platform_pm_ops with a ->get_state hook and implemented it for acpi_pci_platform_pm, the only pci_platform_pm_ops existing till v4.7. However v4.8 introduced another pci_platform_pm_ops for Intel Mobile Internet Devices with commit 5823d0893ec2 ("x86/platform/intel-mid: Add Power Management Unit driver"). It is missing the ->get_state hook, which is fatal since pci_set_platform_pm() enforces its presence. Andy Shevchenko reports that without the present commit, such a device "crashes without even a character printed out on serial console and reboots (since watchdog)". Retrofit mid_pci_platform_pm with the missing callback to fix the breakage. Intel Moorestown platform support was removed few years ago. This is a follow up which removes Moorestown specific code for the serial devices. It includes mrst_max3110 and earlyprintk bits. This was used on SFI (Medfield, Clovertrail) based platforms as well, though new ones use normal serial interface for the console service. 2013-10-18intel_mid: Move platform device setups to their own platform_<device>.* filesDavid Cohen1-0/+16
As Intel rolling out more SoC's after Moorestown, we need to re-structure the code in a way that is backward compatible and easy to expand. This patch implements a flexible way to support multiple boards and devices. This patch does not add any new functional support. It just refactors the existing code to increase the modularity and decrease the code duplication for supporting multiple soc's and boards. Currently intel-mid.c has both board and soc related code in one file. This patch moves the board related code to new files and let linker script to create SFI devite table following this: 1. Move the SFI device specific code to arch/x86/platform/intel-mid/device-libs/platform_<device>.* A new device file is added for every supported device. This code will get conditionally compiled by using corresponding device driver CONFIG option. 2. Move the device_ids location to .x86_intel_mid_dev.init section by using new sfi_device() macro. This patch was based on previous code from Sathyanarayanan Kuppuswamy. mrst is used as common name to represent all intel_mid type soc's. But moorsetwon is just one of the intel_mid soc. So renamed them to use intel_mid. This patch mainly renames the variables and related functions that uses *mrst* prefix with *intel_mid*. To ensure that there are no functional changes, I have compared the objdump of related files before and after rename and found the only difference is symbol and name changes.
