2023-08-17ASoC: rt5682: Convert to use GPIO descriptorsLinus Walleij1-5/+15
Convert the RT5682 to use GPIO descriptors and drop the legacy GPIO headers. We remove the global GPIO number from the platform data, but it is still possible to create board files using GPIO descriptor tables, if desired. Make sure to make sure SDW devices can associate with an LDO1 EN descriptor too, if they so desire by putting the lookup into the common code. 2023-08-07ASoC: rt5682-sdw: enable pm_runtime in probe, keep status as 'suspended'Pierre-Louis Bossart1-0/+3
This patch suggests enabling pm_runtime during the probe, but marking the device as 'active' only after it is enumerated. That will force a dependency between the card and the codec, pm_runtime_get_sync() will have to wait for the codec device to resume and hence implicitly wait for the enumeration/initialization to be completed. In the nominal case where the codec device is already active the get_sync() would only perform a ref-count increase. The changes are directly inspired by RT711 and RT711-sdca changes. 2023-05-17ASoC: rt5682: Disable jack detection interrupt during suspendMatthias Kaehlcke1-0/+6
The rt5682 driver switches its regmap to cache-only when the device suspends and back to regular mode on resume. When the jack detect interrupt fires rt5682_irq() schedules the jack detect work. This can result in invalid reads from the regmap in cache-only mode if the work runs before the device has resumed: [ 56.245502] rt5682 9-001a: ASoC: error at soc_component_read_no_lock on rt5682.9-001a for register: [0x000000f0] -16 Disable the jack detection interrupt during suspend and re-enable it on resume. The driver already schedules the jack detection work on resume, so any state change during suspend is still handled. This is essentially the same as commit f7d00a9be147 ("SoC: rt5682s: Disable jack detection interrupt during suspend") for the rt5682s. 2022-04-07ASoC: rt711/5682: check if bus is active before deferred jack detectionPierre-Louis Bossart1-0/+9
This patch takes a defensive programming and paranoid approach in case the parent device (SoundWire) is pm_runtime resumed but the rt711 device is not. In that case, during the attachment and initialization, a jack detection workqueue can be scheduled. Since the pm_runtime suspend routines will not be invoked, the sequence to cancel all deferred work is not executed, and the jack detection could happen after the bus stops operating, leading to a timeout. This patch applies the same solution to rt5682, based on the similarities between codec drivers. The race condition with rt5682 was not detected experimentally though. 2022-04-05ASoC: rt5682: fix an incorrect NULL check on list iteratorXiaomeng Tong1-7/+4
The bug is here: if (!dai) { The list iterator value 'dai' will *always* be set and non-NULL by for_each_component_dais(), so it is incorrect to assume that the iterator value will be NULL if the list is empty or no element is found (In fact, it will be a bogus pointer to an invalid struct object containing the HEAD). Otherwise it will bypass the check 'if (!dai) {' (never call dev_err() and never return -ENODEV;) and lead to invalid memory access lately when calling 'rt5682_set_bclk1_ratio(dai, factor);'. To fix the bug, just return rt5682_set_bclk1_ratio(dai, factor); when found the 'dai', otherwise dev_err() and return -ENODEV; Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Fixes: ebbfabc16d23d ("ASoC: rt5682: Add CCF usage for providing I2S clks") Signed-off-by: Xiaomeng Tong <xiam0nd.tong@gmail.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20220327081002.12684-1-xiam0nd.tong@gmail.com Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>
2022-02-08ASoC: rt5682: do not block workqueue if card is unboundKai Vehmanen1-5/+7
The current rt5682_jack_detect_handler() assumes the component and card will always show up and implements an infinite usleep loop waiting for them to show up. This does not hold true if a codec interrupt (or other event) occurs when the card is unbound. The codec driver's remove or shutdown functions cannot cancel the workqueue due to the wait loop. As a result, code can either end up blocking the workqueue, or hit a kernel oops when the card is freed. Fix the issue by rescheduling the jack detect handler in case the card is not ready. In case card never shows up, the shutdown/remove/suspend calls can now cancel the detect task. 2022-01-28ASoC: rt5682: Fix deadlock on resumePeter Ujfalusi1-16/+8
On resume from suspend the following chain of events can happen: A rt5682_resume() -> mod_delayed_work() for jack_detect_work B DAPM sequence starts ( DAPM is locked now) A1. rt5682_jack_detect_handler() scheduled - Takes both jdet_mutex and calibrate_mutex - Calls in to rt5682_headset_detect() which tries to take DAPM lock, it starts to wait for it as B path took it already. B1. DAPM sequence reaches the "HP Amp", rt5682_hp_event() tries to take the jdet_mutex, but it is locked in A1, so it waits. Deadlock. To solve the deadlock, drop the jdet_mutex, use the jack_detect_work to do the jack removal handling, move the dapm lock up one level to protect the most of the rt5682_jack_detect_handler(), but not the jack reporting as it might trigger a DAPM sequence. The rt5682_headset_detect() can be changed to static as well. <swboyd@chromium.org>: This patch series drops a printk message down to dev_dbg() because it was noisy and then migrates this driver to use clk_hw based APIs instead of clk based APIs because this device is a clk provider, not a clk consumer. I've only lightly tested the last two patches but I don't have all combinations of clks for this device. 2020-08-17ASoC: rt5682: Use clk_hw based APIs for registrationStephen Boyd1-36/+11
The (new?) style of clk registration uses clk_hw based APIs so that we can more easily see the difference between clk providers and clk consumers. Use the clk_hw based APIs to do this and migrate to devm for the clkdev creation so that we can reduce the amount of code. 2020-08-17ASoC: rt5682: Drop usage of __clk_get_name()Stephen Boyd1-13/+11
The __clk_get_name() API is deprecated. Use clk_hw_get_name() or proper registration techniques to avoid it. 2020-08-17ASoC: rt5682: Use dev_dbg() in rt5682_clk_check()Stephen Boyd1-1/+1
I see a spew of "sysclk/dai not set correctly" whenever I cat /sys/kernel/debug/clk/clk_summary on my device. This is because the master pointer isn't set yet in this driver. A user isn't going to be able to do much if this check is failing so this error message isn't really an error, it's more of a kernel debug message. Lower the priority to dev_dbg() so that it isn't so noisy. Some settings should set to default value after the calibration. This patch also disables the 25MHz and 1MHz clock power when the jack unplugged. The JD is triggered by JDH, therefore this patch removes JDL setting. 2020-07-17ASoC: rt5682: disable MICBIAS and Vref2 widget in defaultShuming Fan1-0/+4
The pin status of the widget was connected after the sound card registered. The rt5682_headset_detect function will use the pin status of these two widgets to decide the certain register setting on/off. Therefore this patch disables the pin of these two widgets in the codec probe. This patch could avoid the misjudgment.
