2024-07-01KVM: s390: fix LPSWEY handlingChristian Borntraeger1-0/+32
in rare cases, e.g. for injecting a machine check we do intercept all load PSW instructions via ICTL_LPSW. With facility 193 a new variant LPSWEY was added. KVM needs to handle that as well. Fixes: a3efa8429266 ("KVM: s390: gen_facilities: allow facilities 165, 193, 194 and 196") Reported-by: Marc Hartmayer <mhartmay@linux.ibm.com> Reviewed-by: Sven Schnelle <svens@linux.ibm.com> Reviewed-by: Claudio Imbrenda <imbrenda@linux.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Christian Borntraeger <borntraeger@linux.ibm.com> Message-ID: <20240628163547.2314-1-borntraeger@linux.ibm.com>
2024-02-20KVM: s390: Refactor kvm_is_error_gpa() into kvm_is_gpa_in_memslot()Sean Christopherson1-2/+2
Rename kvm_is_error_gpa() to kvm_is_gpa_in_memslot() and invert the polarity accordingly in order to (a) free up kvm_is_error_gpa() to match with kvm_is_error_{hva,page}(), and (b) to make it more obvious that the helper is doing a memslot lookup, i.e. not simply checking for INVALID_GPA. 2024-01-08KVM: s390: fix cc for successful PQAPEric Farman1-2/+6
The various errors that are possible when processing a PQAP instruction (the absence of a driver hook, an error FROM that hook), all correctly set the PSW condition code to 3. But if that processing works successfully, CC0 needs to be set to convey that everything was fine. Fix the check so that the guest can examine the condition code to determine whether GPR1 has meaningful data. Add local and system prefix to some functions to clarify they change control register contents on either the local CPU or the on all CPUs. This results in the following API: Two defines which load and save multiple control registers. The defines correlate with the following C prototypes: void __local_ctl_load(unsigned long *, unsigned int cr_low, unsigned int cr_high); void __local_ctl_store(unsigned long *, unsigned int cr_low, unsigned int cr_high); Two functions which locally set or clear one bit for a specified control register: void local_ctl_set_bit(unsigned int cr, unsigned int bit); void local_ctl_clear_bit(unsigned int cr, unsigned int bit); Two functions which set or clear one bit for a specified control register on all CPUs: void system_ctl_set_bit(unsigned int cr, unsigned int bit); void system_ctl_clear_bit(unsigend int cr, unsigned int bit); Reviewed-by: Alexander Gordeev <agordeev@linux.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Heiko Carstens <hca@linux.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Vasily Gorbik <gor@linux.ibm.com>
2023-07-03s390: include linux/io.h instead of asm/io.hHeiko Carstens1-2/+1
Include linux/io.h instead of asm/io.h everywhere. linux/io.h includes asm/io.h, so this shouldn't cause any problems. Instead this might help for some randconfig build errors which were reported due to some undefined io related functions. 2022-07-20KVM: s390: guest support for topology functionPierre Morel1-4/+16
We report a topology change to the guest for any CPU hotplug. The reporting to the guest is done using the Multiprocessor Topology-Change-Report (MTCR) bit of the utility entry in the guest's SCA which will be cleared during the interpretation of PTF. On every vCPU creation we set the MCTR bit to let the guest know the next time it uses the PTF with command 2 instruction that the topology changed and that it should use the STSI(15.1.x) instruction to get the topology details. STSI(15.1.x) gives information on the CPU configuration topology. Let's accept the interception of STSI with the function code 15 and let the userland part of the hypervisor handle it when userland supports the CPU Topology facility. 2022-03-14KVM: s390x: fix SCK lockingClaudio Imbrenda1-1/+14
When handling the SCK instruction, the kvm lock is taken, even though the vcpu lock is already being held. The normal locking order is kvm lock first and then vcpu lock. This is can (and in some circumstances does) lead to deadlocks. The function kvm_s390_set_tod_clock is called both by the SCK handler and by some IOCTLs to set the clock. The IOCTLs will not hold the vcpu lock, so they can safely take the kvm lock. The SCK handler holds the vcpu lock, but will also somehow need to acquire the kvm lock without relinquishing the vcpu lock. The solution is to factor out the code to set the clock, and provide two wrappers. One is called like the original function and does the locking, the other is called kvm_s390_try_set_tod_clock and uses trylock to try to acquire the kvm lock. This new wrapper is then used in the SCK handler. If locking fails, -EAGAIN is returned, which is eventually propagated to userspace, thus also freeing the vcpu lock and allowing for forward progress. This is not the most efficient or elegant way to solve this issue, but the SCK instruction is deprecated and its performance is not critical. The goal of this patch is just to provide a simple but correct way to fix the bug. 2020-08-07mm: remove unneeded includes of <asm/pgalloc.h>Mike Rapoport1-1/+0
Patch series "mm: cleanup usage of <asm/pgalloc.h>" Most architectures have very similar versions of pXd_alloc_one() and pXd_free_one() for intermediate levels of page table. These patches add generic versions of these functions in <asm-generic/pgalloc.h> and enable use of the generic functions where appropriate. In addition, functions declared and defined in <asm/pgalloc.h> headers are used mostly by core mm and early mm initialization in arch and there is no actual reason to have the <asm/pgalloc.h> included all over the place. The first patch in this series removes unneeded includes of <asm/pgalloc.h> In the end it didn't work out as neatly as I hoped and moving pXd_alloc_track() definitions to <asm-generic/pgalloc.h> would require unnecessary changes to arches that have custom page table allocations, so I've decided to move lib/ioremap.c to mm/ and make pgalloc-track.h local to mm/. This patch (of 8): In most cases <asm/pgalloc.h> header is required only for allocations of page table memory. Most of the .c files that include that header do not use symbols declared in <asm/pgalloc.h> and do not require that header. As for the other header files that used to include <asm/pgalloc.h>, it is possible to move that include into the .c file that actually uses symbols from <asm/pgalloc.h> and drop the include from the header file. The process was somewhat automated using sed -i -E '/[<"]asm\/pgalloc\.h/d' \ $(grep -L -w -f /tmp/xx \ $(git grep -E -l '[<"]asm/pgalloc\.h')) where /tmp/xx contains all the symbols defined in arch/*/include/asm/pgalloc.h. First of all we do not want to change existing behavior when intercepting AP instructions without the SIE allowing the guest to use AP instructions. In this patch we only handle the AQIC interception allowed by facility 65 which will be enabled when the complete interception infrastructure will be present. We add a callback inside the KVM arch structure for s390 for a VFIO driver to handle a specific response to the PQAP instruction with the AQIC command and only this command. But we want to be able to return a correct answer to the guest even there is no VFIO AP driver in the kernel. Therefor, we inject the correct exceptions from inside KVM for the case the callback is not initialized, which happens when the vfio_ap driver is not loaded. We do consider the responsibility of the driver to always initialize the PQAP callback if it defines queues by initializing the CRYCB for a guest. If the callback has been setup we call it. If not we setup an answer considering that no queue is available for the guest when no callback has been setup. 2018-04-19compat: Move compat_timespec/ timeval to compat_time.hDeepa Dinamani1-1/+0
All the current architecture specific defines for these are the same. Refactor these common defines to a common header file. The new common linux/compat_time.h is also useful as it will eventually be used to hold all the defines that are needed for compat time types that support non y2038 safe types. New architectures need not have to define these new types as they will only use new y2038 safe syscalls. This file can be deleted after y2038 when we stop supporting non y2038 safe syscalls. The patch also requires an operation similar to: git grep "asm/compat\.h" | cut -d ":" -f 1 | xargs -n 1 sed -i -e "s%asm/compat.h%linux/compat.h%g" Cc: acme@kernel.org Cc: benh@kernel.crashing.org Cc: borntraeger@de.ibm.com Cc: catalin.marinas@arm.com Cc: cmetcalf@mellanox.com Cc: cohuck@redhat.com Cc: davem@davemloft.net Cc: deller@gmx.de Cc: devel@driverdev.osuosl.org Cc: gerald.schaefer@de.ibm.com Cc: gregkh@linuxfoundation.org Cc: heiko.carstens@de.ibm.com Cc: hoeppner@linux.vnet.ibm.com Cc: hpa@zytor.com Cc: jejb@parisc-linux.org Cc: jwi@linux.vnet.ibm.com Cc: linux-kernel@vger.kernel.org Cc: linux-mips@linux-mips.org Cc: linux-parisc@vger.kernel.org Cc: linuxppc-dev@lists.ozlabs.org Cc: linux-s390@vger.kernel.org Cc: mark.rutland@arm.com Cc: mingo@redhat.com Cc: mpe@ellerman.id.au Cc: oberpar@linux.vnet.ibm.com Cc: oprofile-list@lists.sf.net Cc: paulus@samba.org Cc: peterz@infradead.org Cc: ralf@linux-mips.org Cc: rostedt@goodmis.org Cc: rric@kernel.org Cc: schwidefsky@de.ibm.com Cc: sebott@linux.vnet.ibm.com Cc: sparclinux@vger.kernel.org Cc: sth@linux.vnet.ibm.com Cc: ubraun@linux.vnet.ibm.com Cc: will.deacon@arm.com Cc: x86@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Deepa Dinamani <deepa.kernel@gmail.com> Acked-by: Steven Rostedt (VMware) <rostedt@goodmis.org> Acked-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com> Acked-by: James Hogan <jhogan@kernel.org> Acked-by: Helge Deller <deller@gmx.de> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
2018-03-09KVM: s390: Refactor host cmma and pfmfi interpretation controlsJanosch Frank1-2/+2
use_cmma in kvm_arch means that the KVM hypervisor is allowed to use cmma, whereas use_cmma in the mm context means cmm has been used before. Let's rename the context one to uses_cmm, as the vm does use collaborative memory management but the host uses the cmm assist (interpretation facility). 2017-12-06KVM: s390: Remove redundant license textGreg Kroah-Hartman1-4/+0
Now that the SPDX tag is in all arch/s390/kvm/ files, that identifies the license in a specific and legally-defined manner. So the extra GPL text wording can be removed as it is no longer needed at all. This is done on a quest to remove the 700+ different ways that files in the kernel describe the GPL license text. And there's unneeded stuff like the address (sometimes incorrect) for the FSF which is never needed. No copyright headers or other non-license-description text was removed. It's good to have SPDX identifiers in all files to make it easier to audit the kernel tree for correct licenses. Update the arch/s390/kvm/ files with the correct SPDX license identifier based on the license text in the file itself. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. Rename a couple of the struct psw_bits members so it is more obvious for what they are good. Initially I thought using the single character names from the PoP would be sufficient and obvious, but admittedly that is not true. The current implementation is not easy to use, if one has to look into the source file to figure out which member represents the 'per' bit (which is the 'r' member). Therefore rename the members to sane names that are identical to the uapi psw mask defines: r -> per i -> io e -> ext t -> dat m -> mcheck w -> wait p -> pstate Signed-off-by: Heiko Carstens <heiko.carstens@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>
